  • Magic + armour don't mix...

Was anyone else but me stupid enough to take the Arcane armour proficiency feat?! Man it sucks..You trade 1 in 10 spell failure for 5 or 6 rounds of doing nothing in every fight. Lol. And on top of that, it costs you a feat!

If you are thinking about taking this feat, don't!! Take something useful like Weapon Focus (Herring) or Skill Focus (Profession:Shrubber)

Yes, I realise my RP writing sucks. Just be thankful I keep it short

Actually, it's only one round. Or it should be, at least. It's a pre req to be an EK, and is actually quite useful in sticky situations when you need to be able to cast one specific spell, unerringly.

I think he's referring to when used for multiple castings P

For the resord, there's a considerably better feat for this - still spell. Cuts out all arcane armor spell failure for the sake of having fewer high level spells.

hehe, have you met my toon Roger Theshrubber? He complains about the Legion saying "Ni" to old women, and sells shrubberies.

When I remade Juney, this was the first feat to be axed. It wasn't a contributing factor in the remake, but boy, it felt good to be rid of it. x

I took Still Spell for Will, works great! Just 1 spell lvl behind on spells, since Still takes 1 slot higher in your spellbook. Plus since the "armor timer" change on the server it makes Still Spell, or Arcane Armor, a must for "armor wearing wagglers." Just comes down to do I want to "waste a full round casting one spell" or "have all my spells be 1 slot higher in my book?" Personal choice I guess... or you could take both, if you have feats to burn!

Bring back the spell "Power Word: Nii!"....it wasn't a spell to begin with you say?! damn...

Back on topic: aside from the ridiculously long casting time Peridan is correct, I'm finding it does have the occasional use when you *need* your single Fireburst to go of without a hitch

But you must admit its easier to not wear armour and just rely on concealment and a healthy dex score.

Thats why divine casters dont suffer spell failure and arcane casters do; its all about what your role is and where your supposed to be! Eldritch Knights are neat and very powerful frontliners but in the end thats what we have paladins and clerics for

Tricksters still have arcane spell failure, but as they only wear light armor it's very low and fairly easy to get an item or two that will negate it. And hey, don't recommend people start stealing Zorien's uniqueness!
