  • Expert Tactician or others!

Ive noticed that expert tactician and improved disarm arnt working on my NWN2 as they should be. Is it just me or is this an obsidian bug?

I like both of them personally and would hate to think I wasted a feat.

Improved Disarm has never worked as intended. :/ I'm not sure about Expert Tactician, though.

Its supposed to give you circumstancial attack & damage rolls for you and your allies if you score an AoO. Ive never managed to meet the circumstance it seems because it doesnt work for me!

Disarms are working fine for PvP which I can vouch for. Unless the weapon is heavily scripted which may disappear from the inventory as a bug.

However for PvE, the hostiles must be set with disarmable conditions in the toolset in order to disarm them. So either its too much of a work for the Devs to do it, or they may have forgotten to set them. But don't expect the hostiles to drop +5 weapon or so from disarming. Their weapons will simply get destroyed to ensure server balance I think.

But again I haven't been adventuring for a while so I never got to use Disarm at all for the new build. I suppose the DMs or Builders can provide better clarification of the situation.

Note. Difference between Disarm and Improved Disarm is the latter is immune from AoO. That's it.

Actually, Improved Disarm is supposed to drop the weapon into your own inventory, as long as there is room, regardless of whether your hands are free of other weapons.

This is not the case with the feat, even in PvP. It's still not working as intended.

Improved disarm isn't allowed in PvP because of this bug. Normal disarm works as normal. Both work on selected enemies, but not on all enemies in PvE.

And yes, the bug is an Obsidian bug.

I just tested Expert tactician and under no circumstances does it work for me.

So a head ups; dont take expert tactician for any reason other than RP because it has no use!

I like to ask if there were any consequences, which unfortunately I am unaware of, that resulted in banning the use of the feat?

Recently I tried it out in a PVP and the weapon disarmed was simply dropped onto the ground. Though I agree it doesn't work as intended in transferring the disarmed the weapon into the inventory but it does avoid getting AoO attacks from the enemy that a normal Disarm would I recall.

As of version 1.12, this feat does not work as described. If you Disarm your foe while carrying a weapon, your Foe's weapon will fall to the ground. If you instead disarm your Foe while fighting barehanded, your Foe's weapon ends up in your Inventory.
