  • Myrkul and his cleric's alignments?

I noticed that you can be a neutral cleric/favoured soul of a lot of evil gods, but not Myrkul. Is this intended or overlooked?

Favoured Soul requires custom feats for the system to work with Myrkul, has not been done as of yet.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Actually, it doesn't. You only need to assign the right favored weapon feats and that's already been done (scythe)

The way deities + alignments works is as follows:

Lafwul Evil deities can have LN, LE and NE priests. Chaotic Evil deities can haveCN, CE and NE. Neutral evil can have LE, NE and CE.

      It's intended and won't change.

Aren't Favored Souls supposed to be of the alignment of their deity?

It isn't restricted to it mechanically.

Ah, I must have misunderstood the so-called One Step Rule, since N is one step from NE, and I'm fairly certain NG deities allow a step down to N. I guess it's not 100% literal. Thanks for clarification!

If you need an example, look at Shar. You have to be evil to worship Shar. Usually N/E gods are just evil with no other reason for it. Gods that are L/E let you sort of focus on their law or on their evil.

And the one step rule is definitely NOT a hardlined rule. If you need an example, look at Kossuth who allows clerics of all but 2 alignments. Some even 2 steps.

So yeah, 1 step rule isn't hard set.

Still, the book says Myrkul priests can only be evil. (Lost Empires of Faerūn)

Tho its somewhat off Topic it Regards Myrkul.

His Domains according to the Sundren Wiki are: Death, Evil, Suffering, Undeath

And His domains listed in the FR Wiki are: Death, Evil, Fate, Law, Pestilence, Travel, War

I'm not sure where the FR Wiki got the info, but I'm unable to find Myrkul's Official 3.5 domains listing. There are atleast some differences between the FR wiki and Sundren Wiki on this, anyone have the official Myrkul domains list? I guess it may have been like many of the other dieties that we had to research the official list and found them to be missing or in excess of domains. I already checked that post, but it only had gods in sundren at the time.

We selected specific domains for Myrkul on Sundren for what made sense.

The Domains listed on the FR wiki originate from the Greyhawk campaign setting, GBX discovered. The official 3.5 Forgotten Realms domains listing can be found in Lost Empires of Faerūn.

If I recall correctly some CG gods even allow Paladins.
