Barazinbar got a start on a mining career last night. He got hired by Brunus Ironbreaker. The Mountainbreakers is a great idea btw and will help my newb with some much needed funds. He went into the goblin cave and mined a couple of rich iron veins. The mining itself is very cool. The second vein colapsed on him, awesome effects! I only wish he could have gotten the iron out of the rubble that fell. Brunus told Bar that he would give him extra gold if he could refine the ore into ingots so Bar headed off to the forge. Here's where I ran into a string of bad luck like I've never seen in all the years I've been playing NWN.
I had 8 pieces of Iron to work with. Working the iron I rolled a 2, 3, 6, 2, 2, 2, 2, and a 5. Here's my question though; my skill is a 9 but I was only getting +3 out of the 9 skill so I succeeded in making 2 ingots with the 6 and the 5 roll (5+3=8 vs DC 7). The modifier is your skill divided by 3?
