I apologize to people involved at the crossroads. I got mixed in fixing weather bugs and rebuke undead bugs and lost track of the event. I think my attempt to resolve the issue of me being afk was horrid to say the least. So, my bad and the next one will be better, I promise!
Also, on a side note, if you're going to attack an NPC that is not hostile to you PLEASE notify the DM so they can do these things.
1) Set them hostile
It'll wreck factions and other things if NPCs aren't hostile. Some NPCs are set to different factions so AIs don't attack players, other factions will lead to you getting attacked by unrelated NPCs. This is for your own safety and removing headaches from the combat.
2) Fix equipment
Fighters and NPCs don't always have their gear equipped when we possess them. It's an issue with identification and possession. They will eventually unequip things and be unable to reequip until the DM examines everything and puts it back. You might have attacked NPCs DMs were possessing, and suddenly been punched instead of hit with a weapon
3) Get out of their bodies.
#3 might not make sense to players, but for DMs controlling NPCs for combat that are casters and other things is borked to no end.
DMs have every spell on their screen (All 2000) so picking actions is hell, where AI just burns through abilities and only uses what is known. Also all spells and abilities are done at innate level and DC's, not the NPC levels, so for example, if I were to cast some enchantment spell like charm, it'll be a DC of like 15 to resist, where as an NPC may be well over 30 from stats and feats and such. See what I'm saying? We also can't cast on any NPCs in the area. Sometimes I want to get on a wizard and bake goblins, but I cannot!
It's never been my goal to kill people, and I don't mind people fighting NPCs at all, or even winning, I just like to prepare the fight so it goes how it should with little trouble. A simple "I want to attack this person" on DM chat will help immensely. Especially if there some plot involved, like the frost giant that is actually some old man who found an illusion artifact. I don't think you want to fight a frost giant when it's supposed to be a 1 hd commoner XD
I personally prefer players notify me of all actions, but after 2 years of trying and praying for that to happen, I just gave up on it
Again, sorry for the mix up yesterday.
