  • Epic Return: Fright Night

You may all have noticed that I've been absent for quite some time. Well the reports of my grisly death were greatly understated, but panic not, I know a really good necromancer who owed me a favour, and the rest as they say is history.

Aaaaaaaaaanyway, in just over a week (Next Thursday to be exact) I should be back in Sundren, and to celebrate (or commiserate) my return I shall be holding my signature evil night event for all those nasties out there who feel they haven't been getting enough hate recently.

      Didn't you mean 'who'?

Well, a bit more boiling in the pits of evil would certainly be welcome back anyway.

I'm going to aim to run this event on Saturday 27th June at 6pm EST, that's 11pm GMT for those Brits amongst us. I'd like to run it later but I'm getting old and need my beauty sleep for work the next day!

Please please please can you all send me a PM to confirm you will or won't be attending, containing information about the character you will be attending with. Bear in mind please that I've been absent for several months, so I will need to know classes, levels, short bits of background etc of each participant so I can balance the event correctly.

                More updates to come!

Well so far I've received 1 PM, so if there is no interest then maybe Fright Night will be cancelled this week. Has the server run out of baddies since I've been away...?

The thing is, everyone is tired of playing Lex Luthor. I've heard at least three people saying they'd like to play "boogeymen" type villains, but Sundren's not conducive to that type of evil without massive DM assistance, any time you want to do something.

Basically, the complaint is there's no room for stupid, lucky evil.

But there's still some other evil players out there...maybe they just haven't noticed this post.

I've had a few more posts since then, and we should hopefully have enough people to run the event successfully. Keep those PMs coming folks!

Well one thing that may help newer players is you explain this fright night? Dm run events tailored towards evil? Some descriptions may help? If it were just an orgy of evil, some evil characters like to.. avoid the spotlight

A short description of Fright Night for those who haven't attended previously:

Fright Night is a terrible name for my regular events specifically for evil characters. It is a low profile event which is not aimed at "outing" evil characters, more so that it's just for allowing them to flex their evil muscles a bit and do some unsavoury things without the practically sickening angellic good guys of the server grinding their teeth all around.

Fright Night will usually involve lots of nasty happenings which good guys would not normally touch with a barge pole. Trading evil artifacts for profit, treating with demons and murdering children to coin some examples from the past. It's generally very fun, and allows me to get an idea of how good our players are at playing evil!

This Saturday's event will be an important one for several reasons, not least of which is that it will be my first event I've run since early March this year due to unforeseen circumstances. They usually run for 2-3 hours, depending on how quickly the players figure out the trials I set them, and how long they spend RPing.

This week's event now has a fair few characters attending, and they range from level 7 to level 15, so everyone is welcome to join and it will be my job to make sure no-one is left out just because they're not a high enough level. Keep those PMs coming people and I'll see you in-game on Saturday!

Tonight's the night, I hope to see lots of nasty bastards queueing to sacrifice each other for profit! T-Minus 10 hours (and about 25 minutes) and counting
