  • The timer on changing cloths.

I know I know, you knew someone was gonna moan about it, I decided to save everyone else and be the first one.

Heavy armour, medium armour, maybe even light armour, fair enough. If you want us to wait around for 20-30-40 seconds to change armour then that's cool.

Only problem is, you can no longer RP an armour change like you used to. You just go silent and unresponsive for over half a minute as you can't use the UI whilst the counter is on. this is a real pain in the backside.

A nights sleep is now half the time it takes to put a shirt on.

Which brings me to the point at hand. Putting a basic cloths on is still 20 seconds +.

    WTF?

I put my trousers on as I get out of bed, my socks go on as I walk down the stairs and my shirt is going on as I pee and then I do the flies up. maybe I'm just really efficient, maybe I always get out of bed too close to having to leave for work.

Real life is easier than the game...

It's a game not a burden. I was one person fully in support of timers on armour equiping. But it has to be kept in mind, this is a game, not a chore.

Maybe even some kind of armour changing emote or phrase so people know why you went afk for nearly a minute could be a sensible idea since as is, you just stand like a stick for near a minute unresponsive and then at the end your armour still just goes, *ping! Equiped* RP is RP, this just feels absent of RP and more about control. I know that isn't the intention.

Resting in Sundren is not meant to be the same as a full night's rest. It's a bad comparison.

Nonetheless, we'll keep an eye on the impact of the armor timer.

I don't mind timers. I don't even mind that they take a long amount of time.

I only mind the part about falling unresponsive for 40 seconds, leaving others to wonder if I'm AFK, crashing, taking a long time to type, or getting naked. An ability to type, or an automated emote would be nice.

You've got total ability to type. I just tested this. If you press the Enter key, you'll be able to RP and emote to your heart's content while you're changing outfits.

Yup, I agree with the above statements that Stare pointed out. The timer seems fine to me.

Well, all the statements except Kang's. He's a weirdo.

I didn't even try this out. I just read:

Its still kosher. Changing armor and clothes now takes time however.

                  Thank you

And no, you're not going to hop around on one leg while putting on your plated greaves Azulfae. Once you've tried that at home, come again
The same is true for a complicated dress (I suppose you MIGHT be able to try that, do so at your own leisure!), but both the trousers and this are treated as the same type of item in-game, so it's the easiest solution to avoid bugs ore unnecessary complication.

If you've seen a Samurai get ready for ceremony (I have) you will realise that it is a time consuming affair just to get dressed even 'before' you put your armour on!

The kaihan, hakama, kataginu (or haori if unarmoured) and tabi (mmm socks) took about ten minutes to equip and adjust before putting your plate/chainmail on. If you watch the film 'The Last Samurai' with everyone's favorite angry midget Tom Cruise in; it gives a fairly accurate representation of the care that goes into equipping for battle.. anything less and your likely to end up dead (and chaffing in your private regions >.<).

I had thought the same as Azulfae when I first tried it out, but sure enough, you can still use the chatbar and rest while changing. You can pull up parts of your GUI, but not interact with them.

While it would be nice to be able to spend the half-minute timer clicking OCD-ly through my character sheet, this is not really a big deal I've decided .

The tiered nature of the timer between clothing-light-medium-heavy armor is really well done!

In the end I really like that it takes time to put on armor. Very creative. The only suggestion I could make is the timer be tweaked slightly. I find that with lack of access to the GUI, the timer can seem to take a long time with the heavier armors. Your mileage may vary.

                        Wow it's not locked. O_o

I have been thinking about it and you know what it is and maybe this is specific to my PC because the IC reason for this isn't really in character when it comes to the character I play.

To rest you have to wait for ever to get the armour off, then you have to rest and then wait forever to get the armour back on.

Juggra is the kind of person/thing who could probably sleep in his heavy plate. I know that is something unique to this PC. So i'll just have to get my head around it and pretend.

I've just noticed that this adds a timer to Tenser's Transformation as well (and likely other Shapeshift spells as well). It takes 10 seconds after casting it before being able to move, and when it wears off, the player has to wait 20 seconds before they can move (I assume to equip their 'normal' cloth)... in combat, this 20 seconds after the buff fades makes the caster incredibly vulnerable.

                          Is this intended?

Not intended, no. I'll build in a check to see if a player is shapeshifted (shape shifting equips invisible armor).

Wow thanks for the headsup, that could have been lethal.

No combat in shapeshifted forms until that is sorted out. Phew!
