I am asking about the dispel that almost every creature seems to have now and if we can maybe tone it down somewhat.

I love a challenge and one of the things I love is sometimes fighting creatures that are supposed to be impossible for me and actually winning against them. I try to do this with a party and sometimes it works and sometimes I get my ass handed to me. I understand the risks and roll with them.

However, when I go into an area where the creatures are not supposed to be that difficult with a party and everyone in the party is dispelled and we have to either run for it or have to use 20K worth of heal kits and potions or 20K worth of scrolls and potions to rebuff, I think the system may need a bit of tweaking. Face it, without buffs, many places in Sundren are death traps, even Viridale can crush you without buffs that give you a healthy AC.

Please do not take this post the wrong way, I love challenges and as I said before, that is what makes me tick sometimes, but the lack of stags without grinding makes it very costly and almost not worth it to go to a lot of areas of Sundren anymore because you are either going to spend all your stags, run away with nothing to show for it, or die.....then go grind for more stags to do it all over again.

I almost every day have to fight the urge to grind with my ranger/AA because of having to buy arrows, it becomes even harder to not grind when you add having to buy scrolls and potions that you have to use three times in a row because of dispells for one fight.

I am not asking you to nerf dispell, but maybe have it work on a roll or something instead of the creature always dispelling and always seeming to strip at least two of our buffs at one time - tweaking.

And I know that some would say, well, get the xp other ways, such as RPing or such - well, I tend to think I can RP with the best of them and people that know my characters in the game I would think would say that they get to know my characters and they have a past, an RP reason for doing things, and such. However, I and I know others are like me, love to just go bash things once in awhile or get the itch to RPly slay undead or go to viridale, or schild when we get to that level. Or, we are close to leveling and we buddy up and help each other out. It does suck though when you buddy up and you get dispelled and die, along with your friend that was soooo close to leveling. I for one love to RP, but also love to bash, about 70/30. Am I wrong and need another server, well, maybe...but I am trying to be honest. (Is this a ramble now?)

    Anyway,thanks for listening.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I've removed it from most NPC's, though you'll still find it on true casters. For example, Ancient Dead don't have it, but Dark Advent Necromasters do.

If you see it on some monster that you don't feel it's applicable for, just post on this thread. Thanks--

NP, you'll be happy at the next build update.

Those necromancers and the cartel guys are a sod.

A good tactic to handle them is to take a full on almost, lol, frenzied berserker stance to killing them.

Get your caster to buff your tank and then cast silence directly on the tank. throw away any defensive techniques and put everything ont he attack.

Plough in and paint the walls with those caster before they can do anything and before that silence spell wears off.

Unfortunately if you go in against multiple casters and they are spread around this can go really really wrong.

Another technique I would have used in NWN1 is have rogues in the party and have them sneak around and stand behind the enemy casters.

As soon as the party starts, sneak attack the heck out of them and have your ranged attackers let arrows at them. Tank goes in and keeps the heavies of the rogues and hopefully if you are all good enough it can work well. Unfortunately in NWN2, as I have discovered, playing a rogue is like playing a character with some kind of disability.

Confide in me my friend and I shall love you like no other.

Yeah rogues arnt very durable in NWN2; everyone seems to go for them till they are dead then they go for the caster in the group..

Thanks again PL for the nerf on mobs!
