  • Master of many forms, form ideas

Something that has hit me right away is the idea that a master of many forms can become anything he puts his mind to and trains to learn.

As such there are forms that would be useful for RP reasons to individual masters of many forms but are not available as standard to the PrC.

I'm not asking for anything special or more powerful but perhaps if there was a strong plot related reason for a master of many forms to learn to make himself look like something specific, e.g. a city guard, an exigo prospector, a child or an old man etc etc.

Would shapes like these be able to be created with much ease and perhaps added via a DM given feat earned through the relevant roleplay?

Obviously if this is a tonne of work and too much to ask, no worries!

Sorry, but this won't happen. Not because it's not a good idea, but because it's an awful lot of work to do just for one class and the MoMF already has a lot of usefulness and flavor over others at it is.

There's another reason, though that one I'm not ready to reveal anything about just yet.

Not to mention it's horribly OP'd

          Fair do's.

I had a feeling like it would be an unreasonable amount of work to ask for.
I Just wanted to throw the idea out there.
If you don't ask you don't get.

It was not in any way, as clearly mentioned before, an idea to gain more power for the class, but it was just an idea to enhance the roleplayability of the class.

Any of those extra forms could have been weak as piss, it would matter not at all.

The only power the class has is the Roleplay potential of it. You loose out on all the higher level spells that you would have by remaining a pure druid.

With regard to the shapes you can change into, it's been obviously well thought out to make none of them any better built for combat than the normal druid shapes. (Dire panther or Dire bear jumping immediately to mind.)

Hence when it comes to a thrash around, you're likely to end up using the same animal shapes for battle as your druid counterparts and simply have less buffs and magic to supplement.

It's a novel class with a lot of RP potential.

I apologise but I have to defend the class because I don't want myself or the other few people I know of, who are playing it, to be known as powergamers for playing it. It's a very uncomfortable feeling to log on and feel like you are being scrutinised when your intentions are good and in the right place.

MoMF is very underpowered mechanics wise, very very very. I can't chant that enough. My goodness it's not even an Obsidian cock up, overpowered class, that needs nerfing down. This is one of Sundren's own, built for the server, by the server. I'd hate to think people had misconceptions to the contrary purely because it 'looks impressive' when you change into something physically large in size.

I can live with that, I chose to make that sacrifice before I took the PrC because I saw the potential for some good roleplay. I'd hate to think people were judging me as the opposite.

Well the server is still beta so modifying the creatures is a possibilities if staff wants. But with the work involved I figured a revising of the existing shapes would be done not adding more.

kinda like I hope the Palemaster summons will be modifed (if they are not already).

Or perhaps palemaster will get their normal summons as henchmen so they can have 2 or three criters follow them spooking out folk.

            sorry for the derail.

Assuming anothers appearance *MIGHT* be possible I once had a disguise script i was tinkering with by just making it appear like the thing you used it on. It worked to an extent but a few things made it have some BAD problems.

Being a shifter I would just seek to RP the shift as someone else and use bluff skill to pull it off.

              That would be truely awsome.

The implications of such a script... phew.

I think that is one for single player or the DM engine.

              Nice idea though man.

Makes me think of the mirror in IWD in the ice palace that makes a copy of you that you have to fight.
