  • Ban Temp Hit Points

I suggest we ban temporary hit points. Permanently. I cannot tell you how often I die, simply because I forget to heal before resting. Every single time.

At this rate, I'm just going to write a note and paste it to the top of my computer.

    Grrr.

I think that's a bad idea. Banning temp hit points means you would have to ban con bonuses like Rage and such. And in banning Rage, you would be removing the Barbarian class from the game.

I made this mistake once. I wasn't dumb enough to do it again. Dude, it's really not that hard

Not even to mention that removing temporary hitpoints would be an abysmal amount of work. All spells, abilities, items or whatever that add them would have to be individually modified as the 'temporary hitpoints' property is molded into the core of the game and can't be changed without ripping the engine apart. So you're just going to have to be careful, because temp hp are here to stay

I know, I know, it was more of a frustration post than anything.

I think I'm just going to have to burn those gloves of the defender and noble champion belt. =P

Don't those only kill you when you take them off? I thought only a temp con bonus kills you on rest.

Nah, the points go away when you rest, and restore after I think.

Hmm.. I didn't think they were taken away when you rest, although I'm certain that they are if you crash. As they are added as a bonus to your maximum number of hitpoints rather than a plain boost, to avoid abuse.

Items that give hitpoints don't take them away on unequip. They don't even give you the hp, they just raise your maximum. Its spells like Aid and False Life or Con boosts that take away the hp when they end.

Its not much of a deal for most of us! If I have unequipped an item that grants temporary health I try and find the nearest rest spot to bring me back to my actual HP score. Call me a compulsive nerd but I like to keep things the way they are supposed to be.. especially if your diseased and losing the con bonus and temporary health kills you outright (not nice).

Besides most characters wouldnt stand a chance on Sundren without these temporary hitpoints

there are two different type of temporary hit points.

                          Item, or spell.

Spell has a duration or can be dispelled. = death some times.

Item means always there and can not be removed or dispelled though removing the item will remove the points. Adding the item adds the possibility of more hit points only healing or resting will give them.

Spell given temporary hit points are dangerous. Duration or dispelling can end in a quick death or problem..so avoid em :P
