  • Hired Henchmen and PIT FIGHTING.

Both things I tinkered with when making one area with a buddy.

Pit fighting was rather easy just two npc's summon with different Factions so they fight each other (long as a server has more then hostile that just hate each other works great). Kinda like Pirate cards. (which would be uber cool but an UBER pain to put into a PW).

Hired Henchmen is kinda the same idea an on use script that creates a henchmen. I had it scale so depending on level what henchmen you got so no level 1 charactors getting level 30 summons. Just have to create 4-5 henchmen per item so it will summon right. The Second script I had for it was one that would go through a bag and copy over items then equip them. There is some disadvantages to this.

    1. Players could mis-use it as a freebie bag of holding
    2. I could never figure a way to make the bag JUST hold say 7 items.
    3. Duel weilding is not possible less the NPC starts with two items and the new weapon is a one hand item like dagger etc.

What I really would like to see from the Pit fighting would be a way to gamble on the NPC's or even modify their gear depending on what the Slave owners had.

....hmm One idea I never pondered was making all the equip items into a gem and going from there..will have to try it.

Anyway an idea not sure if something wanted or not. Perhaps I should put that Area up on the vault for folks to look at was made in shadow realm. My previous area was not well liked though few looked at the tower or the neat toys within.

heres an idea for you ash.

make the item that spawns the henchman a bag. depending on the palceables in the bag, the henchman will spawn with different things. Its a tricky script though. Not sure how you would be able to allow for the immense variety of items. If you do it this way, you may just end up giving henchmen set gear like only +1 stuff or only +2 stuff. nothing special ya know?

I'm not going to comment on everything here but I will say hired henchmen will never happen in Sundren, we encourage roleplay and partying, both of which do not happen when using NPCs to help you do the dirty work.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

I've just made a fix to get the Natural Leader feat to work with partied/friendly player characters.

That's actually been one of the things I had wanted done myself, though it took me a couple of hours to figure out how exactly to do it

It'll likely end up in game soon, if it has Saulus' blessing of course.

I can see a major issue with this. Create a group of six players with the Leadership feat, and everybody will have +5 AB

I would have to not stack, obviously.

It doesn't stack, that's handled in the feat's effects. Tested in-game, and working as intended.
