One of the main problems that I keep encountering on Meram is things become much more difficult when you hit level 6. Everything becomes much stronger and such. Along with that small creatures (gnomes and halfings both have -2 to STR) encumbrance is 3/4 (I think they do this in NWN) of medium. In PnP armor for small creatures is half that of medium. My chain shirt for Meram is 25 lbs and full plate for Vannie and Nerana is 50 lbs. Merams max encumbrance is 100 (10 STR) with being encumbered at 66 lbs. Because everything adds up quickly (cowl, cloak, boots, extra outfits for RPing, a dozen or so potions, etc.) I can rarely carry enough healing kits to sustain me when doing quests or helping other people, and completely forget soloing anything with a good attack. I want to ask that there be some armor that have reduced weight and be useable only by halflings and gnomes. This would help a lot.

Store more things inside inn chests for safe keeping.

Also note that there are armors that exist that reduce weight but they aren't cheap... and personally I think it would be more common to see gnomes and halflings which are high dex based which means they would be wearing cloth or leather to begin with.

Armored would be an exception, and with that you reap the troubles that come with being of a small stature and wearing heavier armor.

I can agree to an extent that Obsidian (not us) never took into consideration that armors on different races should weigh different amounts (or should they?). So while possible, I wouldn't want you to expect significantly reduced weights... (like half).

Halfling and gnome adventurers are few and far between so ones that wear heavy armour must be like one in a million!

I believe while halflings are adventurous, they still would rather be eating their ten square meals a day in the comfort of their hearthland. No question about gnomes though; they are not inclined to adventuring as say someone of the highly adaptable human race

I agree that halfling or gnomish fullplate shouldn't weight the same as medium size fullplate because its only 3/4 the size of it! But I doubt many places cater for the small folk sadly enough

Obviously you haven't seen Peri wandering around...

Okay, as someone playing a halfling single class fighter - with a measly 14 Str - I think reduced weight armour for hins and gnomes are a great idea both for gameplay and logic. Peri walks around with full plate armour that weighs about 50 pounds, and with weapons and potions and whatnot, she used to get encumbered picking up goblin ears.

On the other hand, implenting this idea properly would mean creating diffrenciations for all armour currently on the server between Big and Small, which is likely to be more trouble than it's worth. And how many enchanted armour you find would be made specifically for small folk? For example, Peri's armour is Banedead armour - and clearly Banedead don't come in hin sizes.

So, my conclusion - it's a great idea, but it'll take way too much effort to implement, and ultimately I think it'll damage chances of finding good armour for the little people.

Perhaps just a few pieces of magic armour in shops with weight reduction would go someway towards alleviating this problem.

i.e. Yondalla's plate, Dallah Thauns links or Urogalan's Mail of the Dead or something along those lines

As far as I know, halflings do not have 3/4 max encumbrance. I remember Elusa had 10 strength and also became encumbered at 66 pounds. If you look, there's nothing in the "small stature" racial feat that says they have lower encumbrance. Apparently Obsidian did take into account the 1 size fits all armor by removing that. You still have to deal with -2 strength, but that's not too bad.

Note that the NWN2 wiki says halflings get 3/4 encumbrance, but that's because the people who edit that steal most of their stuff from the SRD.
