Well I probably shouldn't try to argue points after cramming for exams. Obviously there's some competition behind the scenes that I wasn't aware of. And I misunderstood some things Kaeldorn said. I won't try to debate further at the moment because I'm still exhausted, but I will say I don't like so much money in so few hands. I think the crafting should move closer to PnP, where items cost half the market value in materials and 1/25 of the cost in XP.

Durin, this has never been about the money really. Im not sure if *anyone* feels cheated of their crafting skills: the point I brought up was that such things (wealth out the window) are rare and would take many 'hours' to craft. Ive still no idea what this has to do with wealth or more matter of fact crafters being cheated out of it... Its more about the magic level and setting of the server, thats the only reason I brought it up!

I know a few people (Etria is particular) who try their best to be very reasonable with enchanted items while still trying to maintain the magic level of the server, but essentially it costs crafters absolutely nothing because the people coming to them normally have all the materials ready. God it costs a single round (6 seconds approx) for you to enchant an item. If you had a set amount of crafting hours per day/week/whatever it would keep magical items rare!

I believe Sean had at first intended to make the use of Craft Magic Arms and Armour and Craft Wondrous Item to cost experience, as in pnp. However, due to the soft level cap at 15, I don't think that would really be fair to the crafters. They wouldn't bother to make any powerful items for anyone at all if that happened.

And Durin, it's not really so that wizards tend to have huge heaps of gold lying around... they usually spend it all on their obsession for trinkets, artifacts, knowledge and experimentation. They end up being collectors, having all kinds of things in their possession that hardly anybody has much use for, but they themselves just find it 'interesting'. Even then, they attain all that over a course of dozens of years, whereas in Sundren, you as an enchanter can possibly make a hundred thousand stags in a good week. And that's what's eating at us, because since bosses no longer respawn without quests it takes months for everyone else to get that much.

Anyway, something has to be done to make enchanting more costly for the enchanters themselves. The initial suggestion is a start. Before I start to think about working on anything more complicating though, I'd like to get the simple things right

I'm the only one who has ever touch or dealt with crafting other than you Kaeldorn (in Sundren).

100k? I don't think any of my characters can even pretend to have seen that much. Must be because I have problems getting past the cartel/mossclaw ogre areas. It seems like all of a sudden monster HP, AC and AB double coinciding with the non-newbie rest rules.

Larger parties are recommended if you have difficulties.

Also this thread has been getting a little off topic, this isn't a crafting pricing debate/discussion.

As far as I can see their crafting system was made by one of the team there, Ive had a look through the NWvault and cant find anything even similar at the moment to use as a reference. Ill keep a look out for anything that might be of use!
