  • De-Complicate the Updater!

People keep whining that the .NET Framework 3.5 doesn't install. Fix that, please.

people keep complaining that tying shoes is too hard too, now they have velcro shoes for adults.. but that doesn't keep me from thinking that I'm still glad I can tie my shoes.
Lately the only thing that keeps me from wishing for a worldwide disaster... is that it would probably interrupt my network connection

      Amazingly arrogant remark -_-

Theres a few of us on MSN right now who are trying to get on Sundren, and are all having problems with the netframe work stuff. MoE shared his Framework folder with me, and I've got Windows Installer 3.1 or whatever, yet the application won't launch. I don't know why it has to be so damn complicated, the old updater was nice.

The first arrogant remark was from Master of Eternity. There is nothing complicated about the updater, what is complicated is user configurations that seem to have problems with .NET 3.5, there's no reason why a properly maintained system would have any problems installing this library.

However because it seems people are having issues with such a common library, a rewrite in an older library is planned which should resolve these issues. This doesn't happen overnight, you're not paying us a subscription fee that we use to pay our programmer a salary. He does it on his own time which he only has so much of.

And it would be wonderful if I could have just picked up the old updater, unfortunately some people have no sense of respect or decency to the players to make that possible, so I make due with what I have.

If there was something else I could do, I would have done it already.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Tone is everything guys. I know you're frustrated, but saying "fix that" and "so damn complicated" will get you nowhere.
