  • Basic Instruments

Searching the Exigo trading post, Sundren City, and the port town, I have yet to find a place that sells basic musical instruments. The only time I ever found an instrument at all was when I rolled a ranger and it was given to him. I think there's a rule against trading items between characters, so that doesn't help my bard out much.

I would be overjoyed if lutes, flutes, and drums could added to someone's shop, such as the traders in the Exigo trading post building. Just want something I can hold in my hands while performing or switching inspirations.

There is an instruments shop in Aquor actually, but you won't have access to that on your map yet if you've just started. The fact that a new player wouldn't be able to access this shop is merely an oversight (this is a beta).

Another shop will be added for instruments sooner or later somewhere else accessible in the first few levels, until then you'll have to wait until we put in the map sharing feature and have someone show you Aquor (if you don't reach the level to access that area beforehand).

A DM would normally help out with this ingame but most of them are on vacation at the moment.

There's no such rule specifically against trading items. It happens all the time. Though magic items tend to be rare enough and/or expensive enough that people aren't willing to just give them away, and bards usually only carry around one instrument. A warrior wouldn't give his only sword away, would he?

I think he means between two of his own characters.

But yeah, I noticed that as well and, me being a fellow bard, can sympathize for not having a good drum to bang frustrations out on, etc. But I understand that this is beta, so I can wait. ^_^

Again if you can get to Aquor there is a music shop there.

Meanwhile, instead of waiting to unlock the area yourself, your character might want to go ask around if there are others who want to run there and pick one up for them. I'm sure there are plenty who are willing to help.
