Maybe the Chief isn't dropping the proper loot....? The only loot I find is scales (like everyone else) never the quest item.

You'll KNOW when you go against the Chief...that's all i'm gonna say about it and....

He got to see the chief today. I reached the boss at the exact same time as he did (I too have the quest open) and *chuckles* I struck the killing blow. Of course Nocte had friends with him, that when I stood over the kill calling it mine (was gonna really tweak his nipples by taking the it when he FINALLY gets there), but one of his friends decides to Step up to me, and while I'm having it out with him, another of his friends walks by and loots the lizard.

So Nocte got the necklace of ears, so I assume.

I'm sure he's feeling kind of *blink blink* right now, after he spawned the lizard right as we said he would.

AFAIK if there is more than one person with the quest open, the chief will respawn each time you re-enter the area until there's been one for each person, so there really is no need to fight over the spawns. Everybody gets one boss for each quest, and that person is entitled to loot ALL the treasure drop from that chief.

It shouldn't. If you see this happen, report it as a BUG. IF I remember right, when I made this, no Boss can spawn more then once per 30 minutes.

Well, I went there today and saw the boss, but had to retreat.
When I returned, he was gone, and no loot bag had his quest item.

Will a boss respawn? Another player told me today that you get just one shot at a boss, and then you can't complete the quest if you flee or die.

So, a boss will respawn after a failed attempt?
I would like to avoid farming and area again and again to test this out--I've already gone through that sewer section twice, with no boss the second time.

Ehem... Spent four hours last night searching.... cleared the sewers both south and west about 7 or 8 times, Prayed to Sune, then did it again. (Sune Paladin, she thought praying would help her find him.) Still have yet to locate him even once.

That's an awesome spot of thread necromancy.

He's definitely there - I watched a party go through the sewers and kill the chief about 4 hours ago.

That's not thread necromancy, that's true ressurrection. Closing.
