Half Elves

Now I personally like half elves as a race. The problem is all the pictures on Neverwinter Nights makes them look like they have Down Syndrome.

Is their anything you guys can do to get some decent looking half elf pictures?

Half-elves aren't all that appealing in many ways... Both humans and elves get better racial traits and look better in NWN2, and half-elves don't have a significant and fun niche to fill like half-orcs do (the ugly stephchild of a wood elf and dwarf union, looking at traits).

Not to speak ill of any half elf players out there, but the race just doesn't work for me in NWN2.

That said, if something is done to increase their appeal, I have no objections.

Half-elves are much more balanced in D&D 4E. I've been reading up on the rules and I am quite enjoying what I have read so far.

Hmm... When I posted this I tought I was posting it for a Role Playing server. I have no problem with a half elf's traits, just the way the pictures look.

I don't really play a race based on traits or bonuses, I happen to have a good story that fits a half elf, a half drow would be better.

Yeah, I was gonna say, half elves have their own place in role play, which some people may feel like taking advantage of. They have their advantages and disadvantages, which they pull from each side of their heritages, which is what you'd expect.

Sorry, I was treating this topic as though it regarded half-elves in general. This really should just be a discussion of portraits.

I personally play a very skinny ugly wood elf ex-slave ranger, but I haven't played him for a while. Wood elves are pretty ugly too actually. I like wild elves though, very feral looking and cute and fuzzy.

The Half Elven female portraits aren't that bad. I could try palying a female character, which I did in pen and paper I think only once. It would be a challenge.

And yes, Wild Elves have the best portraits.

Who says half breeds are pretty? If they were, would they be discriminated against? Rotten Mutts.
