  • Suggestion: Move Delete Button in New GUI

I like the new GUI a lot, it makes things a LOT easier instead of waiting for your right click to kick in!

I'd like to suggest moving the delete button. Maybe keep it under the right click area, or embed it further so it's not so prominently featured next to the Save button. I know it requires a confirm click, but something to consider.

    I really don't see a need when there's a confirmation button.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I'd love to see it moved as well, regardless that there is a confirmation button. Key strokes fly when you're RPing, espeically in combat, and two wrong clicks and your 9th lvl toon you've been working on for the past 4 months is toast, and no DM's will relevel you because it's against policy.

All in all, I'm MUCH more hesitant now to DMFI than I was before. I'll definitely keep it to a minimum with that icon there.

Speaking of which, is there a way we can hide the DMFI tool?

Keep in mind I have about 3 or 4 redundant backups for every character out there at different times so actually losing your char is extremely low risk even if you intentionally deleted it.

I do think the confirm button makes this concern less of an issue, especially knowing that Saulus won't mind can recovering it if you fail to notice. The new convenience of the tool is an improvement for sure.

I'm glad you all like the new tool. I spent a lot of time on those buttons, based on feedback from our esteemed Mr Saulus. Does everyone like the way they look? I'm curious to if the icons are obvious enough.

We still need to tweak the skill and ability lists. I didn't design those!

Thanks Landeran. Of course Sean gets major credit as always.

Hmm... What would a subdual icon show? An open hand?

A stick figure man standing over another stick figure man who is lying prone on the ground and has a sword at his throat? That's the way I always saw subdual, as more of a checkmate or win, in a duel, not really as a knockout per se.

I give you, subdual! See I did like all the work for you, just make it tiny. It even has my professional artistic shine.

                          Wow, that's a familiar sight.

Hey, Brak, where did I see something like that before?

*cough*...I personally like the icons, but I noticed that when you open your inventory or character sheet, the icons don't take a backseat. They remain at the forefront of your screen, which is a very minor inconvenience, but still noticeable.

Yeah, I almost recommended this myself the first day you put in the new system, when I was hanging out in the druid grove on my ranger. I almost deleted my character trying to click somewhere on screen, guess my spastic twitchy fingers clicked delete character as I was passing over it and JUST ABOUT clicked confirm in the center of the screen trying to move around the grove. ;F But yeah, since you say you have backups... not really an issue
