  • Tired of Everyone Looking the Same?

    So,

I was humming around on other servers over the weekend and logged on to a server called Moonsea Adventures. They had the coolest starting item, a "crafting hammer" that allowed you to modify your weapon, armor, shields and clothing by style and color at will. Very smooth!

Anyway, I'm not sure what type of program it is, but it's worth considering. We definitely could use some variety in style and color because most players who have been on for a while know where to find and have much of the same gear.

Thoughts? Keep up the awesome work. LOVE this server! -Caspian

I would love a feature like this! I have some sort of weird obsession with originality, i hate looking like other people. =X

As much as I would love this, I doubt it would be implemented as one of the big rewards RPOTM offers is a custom item appearance.

I'm fully aware of the item appearance modification abilities, in fact there are only two ways of doing this.

The first way is just so impossibly useless and such a huge amount of work I won't even discuss it, the second way uses a special external server-side plugin, however this plugin is not compatible with Sundren's server configuration. Until the author of this plugin updates it for the version of the software configuration we are using, this will not be possible.

So it's moreso a fact that we just can't do it rather than we haven't thought of it/ don't want to do it.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

If I remember correctly, this was brought up once before but was shot down due to the way it interfaced with the server or something. I believe that the only way to do it right now is using overrides, which Saulus does not like. ; )

So it's not like you can check out Moonsea Adventures and "borrow" it from them?

As Saulus said. If they could they would.
