  • Food in Sundren

Was thinking , and i realized that if something too this effect existed maby everyone wouldnt meet in Exigo trading all the time, perhaps take it too a tavern. If there was a way to make Food needed within game, perhaps eat 1x per gameplay day, if you dont perhaps a -1 con till you eat a full meal?
this would get people going to taverns to sit relax maby get some bards to sing or tell stories while we eat meals. Perhaps an amature bard night were they compete for coin?
On a second note maby there could be various meals'

Ribe eye steak +1 str for rest of the day
Roasted chicken with potatoes +1 dex
    Beef stew +1 constitution
so fourth and so on, many possibilities
the better the bonus the more expensive the meal

So what would you guy's think if this would be possible ?

Oh god no. Never doing anything that requires people to eat food, the meat drops were thrown in as a bonus way to heal because of how our other systems worked.

No, that's far too hardcore for Sundren.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

It's possible. I've played on a server that used a hunger thirst fatigue system. I'm not a fan of it though, I don't think it's worth the effort to maintain, and it's more a novelty then anything else. If you want to eat IC, then RP it. I wouldn't mind single use items we can use to represent food that don't do anything

Oooh Oooh can we have a digestive waste system where if we don't defecate every sixteen hours we get a -1 to charisma!

heh just poking you subal. But really any of these 'real life' systems put into a fantasy role-playing game kind of actually make it more hassle then its worth and don't actually increase my sense of immersion.

Oh thank god. I hate food. And water. And freaking bedrolls.

No offense meant, Subal, I just hate those types systems.

I liked the system Arelith used in NWN1 for food, water, and rest. It reeeaaally didn't inconvenience you whatsoever until you started powergaming, at which point you'd realize you were getting thirsty quite fast. There was a lot more to it, and everyone liked it, but I guess this isn't the place.

It really wasn't that hardcore though.

Food and Water junk is so annoying. >_<. But gosh, Taverns are much better places to roleplay at then a silly little campfire. It'd be much better if people went to Taverns, but that rarely happens for some reason. KILL ALL CAMPFIRES. Wheres that one char that Kang has that destroys campfires? We neeeeeeedz him.

Karthus, the manic-depressive slayer of campfires? That was Mako's doing. He posessed the Exigo campfire and attacked me. I had no choice!

Ha! Thats the funniest thing I have read for a long time.

I think that food is one of those things that only appeal to hardcore RPs and is likely to drive people away as an annoyance.

Recently though I haven't seen the crowds at Exigo like there used to be. I agree that it would be nice to have a tavern as a meeting ground, unless you are a Druid or something

This happened to be the most glorious day of all time in my DM career. I mean, except for when I made him wear a stupid mask and dance like the he was possessed by Brandobaris. *tears up at the memories* Come back to me Karthus!

Depends on your opinion on hardcore players. If Hardcore players like to waste rp time and get bored hunting for food and water having to run around the place, which is pretty damn annoying, well, I guess I'm not one.
