  • Level Limit

I suggest that the level limit be changed so that it doesn't take quite so long to go up. I'm basing this on the fact that I feel that there is just not enough to do other than fighting or RPing to warrant the amount of time it takes to be able to gain another level.

As it stands there are essentially 3 things to do, fight, RP, or fish. When the level limit hits fighting becomes grinding for gold and items. Rping is still fun and a good way to make exp but that can only be fun for so long. And fishing is good, but unless a character has Survival as a class skill it can be very expensive and frustrating to do.

And when a person has been on long enough to gain a level through RP and DM exp after their cap has been maxed it takes even longer before that person can gain exp from fighting, making the wait even longer.

This is an RP server. Go RP. Stop grinding for xp. If you want to get to a high level really quickly, find an action server.

Hmm... I half agree, the only problem I have with the current cap system is the rate at which they are unlocked for the first few levels. Like in the beginning it gets capped at 5 so I might have to kinda sit around for awhile, but the way grouping goes by the time my character reaches level 7 or 8 his cap is already 15. I think making the cap go a bit quicker for the first few levels and then slower for the 8 or 9 + would be better. I in no way grind, and it hasn't been much of a problem with Orrick but when I was starting my druid he hit the cap after the second or third day due to DM events and rp'ing with people around the fire and it leading to us going on some small adventure. After that the exp seems to naturally slow down though, he is level 6 now at the 15 cap lol (He was 8 but in the server accident wipe thing that happened he lost 2 levels). Overall though I have no complaints, I think capping people so that they can not grind to like 15 after only having been in Sundren for a few days is a great thing.

People RP to have fun. People grind to have fun. People have the right to do both. Except that grinding is against the rules xD.

Anyway, I think the level cap is fine as it is, it slows down level progression so that people don't level as fast (well obviously, lol). This makes it easier on those high levels that took months getting up there, as they don't see random people zoom past them. Of course, that's entirely selfish of me, but meh.

This isn't even open to discussion. Our level/experience system is not going to change.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
