  • Magic Weapon & Unarmed attacks

I don't know how difficult it would be to do, but it's like to see Magic Weapon effect the Monks unarmed attack (which are considered weapons) as in PnP. I don't know if that would be changing the Magic weapon spell or making the monk's unarmed count as a weapon. Or did Obsidian make this too difficult to implement?

You can cast magic weapon on a monk gauntlet... I don't get what you're suggesting?

Maybe he means if the monk doesn't have a gauntlet or kama?

Wow, I did not know you could cast it on a gauntlet. Thats awesome.

What about gloves, or other handwear?

What is a monk gauntlet? I have Gloves of Long Death +1 and I can not cast it on myself or the gauntlet. It simply states: "Spell Failed: Target must be a melee weapon or a character with melee weapon equiped." So what am I missing?

Well then monks shouldn't be casting magic anyways. They have plenty of innate abilities and I see absolutely no reason to change how the spell works.

Sure does make it hard for aspiring Sacred Fists to refrain from casting the required spells....

Yeah, its kind of the whole point of a Monk/Cleric, and thus a Sacred Fist, to be able to actually use Divine Spells. Maybe I'm confused.

Originally I was trying a monk/druid but Magic Fang doesn't work either and I was noticing a shortage of clerics so I figured the addition Raise Dead would be apreciated. But Magic Weapon is no different, I was just hoping to get one or the other. But hey I'll just stick with the awesome Bless spell for an attack boost. Problem solved.

Magic Fang really should work, but with that aside...

I think the Magic Weapon spells should be fixed to actually incorperate gauntlets, since it has been said that doesn't actually work. Its the entire concept of a Sacred Fist, to combine the worlds of Cleric and Monk, and it becomes obsolete if the Monk can't actually make use of the spells.

Bless is more of a "cover up the problem" than an actual fix to it.

In Pen and paper Magic Fang and greater Magic fang are the spells to boost monk to hit and damage. I'd say you are better off trying to emulate that than empower them with magic weapon and greater magic weapon.

Actually in Pen and Paper, Magic Fang and Magic Weapon work. A monks fists are considered both natural weapons and manufactored weapons the Magic Fang and Magic Weapon both apply respectively.
