I'd like to see animal companions brought back to PnP standards. Most are not half bad but some are way off mark. Like all animal companions start and a base of 10 hit points and are a Beast race d10 HD (instead of Animal with d8 HD). Problem here is that animals like the 1 HD Badger gets like a 2 hit point boost (not bad) but the Black Bear (NWN2 calls it a brown bear) starts with 3 HD and has better Ability Scores (difference between 13 hp NWN2 or 9-30 hp [19 avg]). Alse I'd like to see the higher level animal companions included so Druids and Rangers can get a Dire Badger or maybe even a Dire Bear later on. I felt PnP animal companions balanced pretty well and I think it would add a lot more varience to Sundren. I looked into the changes needed and it's pretty simple it more a matter of you guys liking it and being willing to include it. Great work so far!

While I would like to see my bear friend 'evolve' in to a dire bear as I do when I reach a certain level for my wild shape, I would say that right now implementing a system like that isn't of very high priority and if it ever was implemented it would probably be a long time from now. Also, I'm sure that some other classes that might be deemed 'less powerful' than the classes like druid/cleric etc., would probably like some attention too.
Just my opinion. It's a cool idea though.

I'm not really sure how animal companions work, but I have a question, since it kinda relates.
I'm a level 15 Druid, and uh... my wolf is level 9. Why?Pyras: Red Wizard of Thay, High Arcanist of Illusion, Master of the Enclave's Knight Commander.

because currently in NWN2 all animal ompanions start at level 1 and gain 2 Beast levels ever 3 Druid levels so your wolf should be level 11. Are you pure Druid or did you multiclass because only druid levels count. And Ranger levels count as half a druid level and do not stack with druid level. So a level 10 Ranger has and animal companion like a level 5 Druid. Hope that clears it up!Originally posted by Kangleton View PostI'm not really sure how animal companions work, but I have a question, since it kinda relates.

Maybe it is 11 and I haven't checked in a while. I always just thought it was supposed to have the same HD as me, though it never did - thanks for clearing it up though.Pyras: Red Wizard of Thay, High Arcanist of Illusion, Master of the Enclave's Knight Commander.
