  • bouncing ideas part 2

Another thing I have noticed since I started playing here is there are some really beautiful areas in the game that seem to have no purpose or not enough purposes. One area, in particular gave me a sweet idea I have to pass on to be able to sleep right, and that is the road out to the Gate of the Sunderer.

These are probably two of my favorite areas in the game as far as amazing looking, yet what are they for? Selling rings to Rodwick seems to be the only reason for these two beautiful areas to exist?? That doesn't seem right. I can see there is some sort of unfinished temple at the gate but the Valley Road (think that is what it is called) is awesome and not used for anything! Ok, there are like 4 bandits, but you get what I mean..

So, into my head pops this great idea...there are two excellent boat launch areas in the river there, why not use them? You could make another scary undead area that isn't as hard as necro and is outside for instance a 'Marsh of the restless dead' or something like that (could be any type of mob) but the cool part would be the only way to access this area (or two areas maybe one bleeding creatures and one undead) would be to talk to the boat captain, have a party of 3 or greater or he won't take you.

I think that would be a great way to do something that is for a group (no grinders could get there unless they RP a bit) and to make people travel to an area that I personally think is awesome. Also, the fact that you must have a party of three or more encourages more RP.

I hope this idea is useful, I just wanted to post it here so I could stop driving myself crazy about it. I don't know anything about coding or scripts so maybe my ideas are to difficult or resource intensive, if so I appologize for wasting everyone's time. Also, if I happened to beat any dead horses I am sorry.

I think its worth remembering that Sundren is still in Beta. There are bound to be areas that don't currently seem to serve much purpose but might come into play in the future.

And I agree that those areas are beautiful and worth a visit for that reason alone

Some areas are meant to cater to quests when I get this plugin sorted. Some are used in DM events. Others are there so you can actually go somewhere to RP with people without have 30 people around you. Everything has a purpose, it's up to you to find it.

I mentioned making the boat dock lead to another area to Saulus when the new Valley Road opened, and he told me he'd consider it. It takes a long time to make areas though so just because something doesn't have something now doesn't mean it may not have more stuff available later on.
