  • More low level dungeons

Hi, I was hesitant making this thread because I'm new but I felt it might be favourable to have more varied places in and around the capital for low level (lvl3-lvl7 approx) parties to have a bit of a ravage. A few suggestions could be some putrid sewers below Sundrin infested with all manner of interesting but flammable creatures, a band of incompetent pirates trying to settle smuggling operations on the coast somewhere (in an obscure cave or somesuch connected to the ocean underneath), and/or a tribe of foolhardy orcs try to get a solid foothold in the region by trying to control traderoutes toward sundrin in the east [The orc tribe in question could set up fort blockcades cutting off the eastern highway (Sundrin's way)], as a few examples. I have no knowledge on what the development team is currently working on, but I'm certain they're all extremely busy with the growing community. I just felt it was a bit restrictive at lower levels in terms of things to do.

It's true it's true, there are several low level places. Try asking around...or grunting around

Those bandits near aquor would rip apart a low level party, "you" go inside with a low level party!

Yeah, I've also done it with level fours. They were smart level fours though, I'm pretty sure everyone knew their role and executed it to near perfection. There is *no* room for error down there with that low-level of a party.

With the new death mechanic, however, that idea because less feasible.

I actually agree with him. I don't want to promote grinding, but more low level areas equals:

-More RP reasons to enter a dungeon, and not visit the same dungeon twice.
-More RP "connections" to players. "Oh my god, thats my mum's grave!"
-More loot diversity, which means slightly more diverse players because they are prompted to grow differently.
              -More DM play zones.
-More chances to allow "support" classes to shine. What about an area where you need a bard to sing to open a door? Fancy that.
              -Puzzles?

Not saying that Sundren is inadequate at all, and I understand that we have exactly one high level area, but you know...it wouldn't be bad to show the lowbies some love, yeah?

It was discussed before.. I think this topic was on GBX's Dead Horse List, but I could be mistaken.

However, Saulus last week said no to low level dungeons for players who wanted to start at lvl 1. Problem with areas is that NWN2 takes a god awful amount of space on the server and can only run a limited capacity of close to 2.0gigs. Perhaps the staff may develop more lower level areas when the character level growth slows down as they intended with the implementation of lowering the max level cap and the new death system.
                  Currently playing:

Thalissa spellsword of Red Knight: "Flank, Flank!!"

Talia Callahan: "What te fuck are ye lookin at!!?" Spits

Caldur the Grey Doomguide to Kelemvor: "The trouble with youth is that you think you have time."

My understanding is that it is outdoor areas that eat up the most space. I won't pretend to understand why this is the case, but earlier in the PW cycle a lot of teams were trying to creatively design interior areas to look like exterior ones in order to save space. It could have been an old wives tale, but I thought the issue was interesting.
