There's a joke that bad things always happen in the crossroads. But guess why? Cuz people are always standing there. I'd love for bad things to happen in remote parts of Sundren, but you guys never go there, so you never see them happen there
Ive been there...I don't know how to get past the gates

i got a suggestion to get more ppl into the city. why not lower the ammount of gold you get from sales in the trading post and encrease the gold from sales in the shops in sundren city.
for example the blacksmith in sundren would offer more staggs for weapons than the traders in the trade post. it would make more sence. he would see the real value of the item. plus make more inuqie (cant spell sorry) items for the traders in the city.
i know you have some already but a bit of an increase might help.
since making a ranger i now go to the bow trader beside the temple for the goblin/orc/giant arrows (which come in real handy early on) which you cnat get anywere else. (atleast as far as i know. might be wrong)
perhaps if you also distributed the shops throught the city area's it would mean people would explore more. like have the blacksmith in the military district and so on.
also can you possably add a small alley to the trade district? between the temple you ress in and the world travel marker? only you have to go in a long S shaped path to get to it.
another thought. perhaps have maps of the city for sale? so people wil lknow what places are in what district. like a tour guide. i dunno if you could add an image to a book instead of text, but it might be useful.
I believe that used to be Colibrus' mansion. I don't know if its still in use? But whoo, I don't think anyone wants to go in there unless they're suicidal.
I've been thinking about this recently as well, though I have a different take. Whenever I'm in exigo, there are 1-8 people at the campfire. Whenever I go into the city, I see no one. Why is this? Honestly, its simply mechanical and convienient. Some of this has already been mentioned:
1. The campfire at Exigo is incredibly easily accessed. You just World Map Transition to the area, walk about 10 meters and you're there. Same with exiting.
2. You can sell just about anything at Exigo.
3. The area is very easy to navigate.
4. People already congregate there.
These are also all of the reasons the city is not used - each area is big, and it can be a long walk to the exits, or to each merchant. They feel dead, as there are very few NPCs or players. You have to spend a lot more time going to each merchant to sell your findings - even if you get a bit more coin. Finally, they are much less open - getting to the bow merchant in Trade Tier and back out takes a (relatively) long time.
Realizing these 'rules' is the first step in guiding players to a place where you want them to meet. If the Sundren team wants players to congregate in a city, perhaps put a sizable Inn right next to an area transition(or area transition right into the Inn), with merchants very close by(or even inside the Inn). I personally think Exigo works just fine, though.
The biggest pull to the city will be the factions and quests, neither of which are predominate right now, that will change. You probably won't find many quests in the Exigo Trading Post as a comparison.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
