  • Alignment Shifts

    Background:
True Role Play should have concequences for your actions. I have heard that DMs can only shift allignments in complete increments, not by a few points at a time. I've even been in some short DM events to test peoples play of alignments. How ever instead of being able to give a slight alignment shift, could only not grant XP.

    Idea:
Well as far as I know form single player, dialogs can shift alignment in any increment.
Why not an OOC room that DMs can port people to after an alignment changing event and order people to talk to the OOC NPC and take the ordered shift? A bit akward but workable... Shifts of 5, 15, 30, etc. points in Good/Evil, Law/Choas.

I think a 5 point alignment shift would really wake up alot of peoples role play.

The sundren DM client allows DM's to shift player alignments slightly and not just in large increments. They can shift alignment by only a few points or completely. Hence, you will see on your character GUI an alignment bar or scale of points to where your alignment is currently at and where it is being shifted by a DM if they perceive you not following that path.
    Currently playing:

Thalissa spellsword of Red Knight: "Flank, Flank!!"

Talia Callahan: "What te fuck are ye lookin at!!?" Spits

Caldur the Grey Doomguide to Kelemvor: "The trouble with youth is that you think you have time."

Whoever told you that DMs can only shift alignments in complete increments is wrong, I think. I have had movements of as little as 4 points and as large as a complete change.

That being said, I do think that alignment changes of any sort don't come as often as I would like to see.

What you said is actually not true so there's really no point to this. DM's can adjust alignments by any degree they want.

It will stay as DM only in terms of shifts and never be possible through questing or the like. This is intentional.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
