So finally got a char who can see for her self and *points up* Why is that?

I truely understand not having more powerful items as the bosses get higher, but surely something could drop. I don't think the Orges, Lizards, even had a boss that I noticed. And nothing past Orcs has even a drop of any kind. Someone told me to go to the Necropolis, well I've had parties up and down that place... nada.

*raises hands* No, this post isn't about getting rich quicker! Don't jump to conclusions!

    My suggestion is this:
Have all the bosses even the higher level ones drop something. I'm not suggesting that it even be better than what is availible from say the Gnoll Chief.

My concern is, when higher ups feel they need some loot or coin they go tromping past struggling chars in their level appropriate areas and go kill a lower level boss to get the loot.
That really isn't fun for anyone.
The poor lower level guy is pushed aside and looses, loot and mojo.
The higher level guy feels cheapend by the whole process at best.

I've been that lower level guy in a party, and it really isn't cool to run into that impossible character killing all the bosses in the area just for the loot solo. And I don't want to be that higher level guy feeling forced to have to go to the mosscap and rudely kill bosses for loot.

It is kinda a let down to finally survive a dungeon with your party and not have that final end boss battle and only leave with a bunch of Copper Necklaces and Healing Kits +1

    Loot tables aren't done.

    Beta.

    Etc, etc.
"Men fear thought as they fear nothing else on earth -- more than ruin -- more even than death.... Thought is subversive and revolutionary, destructive and terrible, thought is merciless to privilege, established institutions, and comfortable habit. Thought looks into the pit of hell and is not afraid. Thought is great and swift and free, the light of the world, and the chief glory of man."

There's also the issue that prices for loot are capped at 1k stags (as far as I have seen and heard, at least). Thus, even if the higher level bosses had loot (higher level bosses being the two in the Necropolis and any in Veritas, everything before that has loot drops, and Lizards don't have any bosses at all), it wouldn't be worthwhile to farm them. IE, say you could kill a boss in Veritas boss, risking losing tons of exp, requiring a full party (thus having to roll on the loot), etc, and then you can only sell it for 1k to the vendors.

Going to Spittlefist, and taking what the Chief drops, also sells for 1k to merchants. Same with the bosses in Mossclaw. Therefore, it is quite logical why high level characters will come to Mossclaw to solo the bosses there... it's not about loot quality, it's about biggest bang for your buck (or biggest buck for your bang, in this case).

Of course, people could get higher by selling the loot to other players instead of NPCs, but that would force the other players to grind for cash in order to pay for it, which, of course, ends up repeating the cycle of high levels killing low level bosses.

In order to encourage high level players to stick to high level zones for cash, then it necessitates that the high level bosses drop loot that can be acquired and sold with more efficiency than continually regrinding older bosses. Currently, efficiency for killing low level bosses over and over is 100x better than grinding high level areas.

Of course, this is all an OOC viewpoint, completely ignoring the fact that people shouldn't even be grinding the same mobs over and over for gold in the first place (problem being that we don't really have a non-OOC-grinding way to make money. Which is the main issue, IMO.)

I wouldn't farm the Mossclaw. I don't want to farm the Mossclaw. But if that's what the server is designed for and expects me to do; well that sadness me that they would delibrately make it so High Levels have to go out and Screw Lows to make a living.

It's not about the easist coin for the effort for me. It's about taking a challenge and having a hair raising adventure with a party of friends. So any item that we could hold over our heads triumphantly and yell "We did it" would be great and appreciated. Risking it all and finding nothing, is kinda a kick in the....

The server isn't designed for farming. In fact, the loot tables aren't done. I Don't know why threads like this keep appearing when we keep answering the same, it's not done.

                  yay, I was quoted >.<

but seriously, loot tables not done -> fair enough
but you can't complain about the farming then, lol

All a player can do GodBeastX is play the server as it is. I make what I try my best to be helpful suggestions, based off of what I see. I thought I read that Salus wrote that the server was transitioning from a "Getting up and running phase" to a "expand content phase". So making suggestions on things already in seems valid.

Isn't the beauty and the reason we play a PW like Sundren, is that it is never static?
