  • Language system/GBX Development Info

I really like the language system and i am excited that its going to be even better.

    I have a suggestion/wish regarding the overhaul.

Today it is possible to write emotes into the language box in *.* and they are not translated. However my char seems to execute random animations then.
Is it possible to change that please, or use other symbols to mark a text as "do not translate"?

I use these symbols often, for example for names, they should not be translated at all.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

    Cheers

Such are the problems inherent in the DMFI. No doubt the various developers have this stuff in mind for Sundren's System. But yeah, it is annoying... I tend to use languages other than common far less than I otherwise would due to the weird results of using punctuation, and even more annoyingly the fact that the DMFI will only take one line of text at one.
    I got one leg missin'
    How do I get around?

We won't use emotes with ** anymore with DMFI, all emotes will be triggered by our command system. using a period first.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Excellent. I do have one question, I apologize if it's daft:

The . emotes are triggered through the main chat window and the * emotes are triggered through the DMFI window.

That being the case, consolidating all the emotes to the . commands will move everything to the chat window?

I ask only for the reason that I throw my voice through Nyx quite often and that has to be done through the DMFI window and the few emotes I have for the wolf are of the * variety. If the * emotes are disabled all together, people's non-possessable companions will be about as interesting as a folding chair.

Another way to fix this would be to (and I don't know if this is even possible or worth the work) make animal companions able to be possessed.

        Any of that make sense?

I'll probably add a command for pets and summons.
