Adding more races?

I didn't see any thread about it, and I have no idea how development for NWN2 is going with changing the character creation process.....but adding more races would be nice.


I realize there are a lot of races already around, but so many are missing. Like Half-Dragons. Who doesn't like Half-Dragons? Now that I think about it though....I guess it doesn't make the world a better place....until more important things are done.....I thought I'd throw it out there anyways though.

100000000000 people would apply to be a half dragon because of its all around uber stats. Already part dragon NPC out there, something that strong should only be left up to dms to use for events/plots and such. Would be out of control with a player I think.

I just threw half-dragon out as the example. The Half-Dragon class doesn't have to be leet either, plus they could just stick that in with other ECL races.....

Ok so how about like....Why can I only think of Half-Dragons now.....

The Red Dragon Deciple is out lawed in most PWs, just because of the crazy numbles people taking the class and it's unbalancedness.

I have to say I completely dissagree with your entire premise Scavar. PWs have a tendancy to look like a freak show circus with out stong controls limiting "wierd" races. Just how the world doesn't make sense or fun when everyone is level 20, neither is it if there are only one human and ten thousand aberations as the rest of the population.

We already have a bunch of overly retarded races, IMO. Between Genasi, Aasimar, etc, we've already got the circus going on. No need for even more random spawns.

What I'd like to see instead would be Regions (especially for humans. Elves and such already have plenty of different races, we need different human races based on region). But of course that's beyond reasonable development and not really necessary at all.

I realize the retarded number of races we can already be, but just like those, lock down the allowed number. I just think it would be cool to see a PC now and then that is some exotic/rare race.



The idea about regions though, that would be a neat idea, much better then my idea. I think maybe, my original goal....was something that can't really be modded so much. I originally wanted to say better character customization in relation to the hair/face. I think we all know what I'm talking about?

The big problem with what you describe is to make a race that "just once in awhile a PC will use" is such a huge waste of time for us. Why would we make something, spending weeks on it to bugtest etc that two people will use?

That is entirely true, I really didn't put too much thought into any of this.
