Was wondering if this is possible to do without buying it first. Since alot of the dresses are 1200+ not good when you spend that and it doesent look good on you. Perhaps make it so they are all free to get from the tailor, you can put it on in the building but cant zone out with it unless you place it on the table/ counter. (Like putting it in a container, it reads it, says the price, then asks would you like to purchase, hit yes or no. Yes subtracts the gold and lets you leave. No gets rid of it and lets you leave. ) Would take some time to make, but alot better then playing "Guess what this will look like!"

Trying on clothes
Sacrifice everything as the final darkness falls... in the end, all that awaits you is death. Only then will you understand - you've been following in my footsteps all along.
So come then, you heroes! Come in all your power and glory! For in the final hour, all must serve the one... true... king.Tags: None

If Obsidian had actually put some forethought into the game and made it so we could alter armor model pieces on the fly this might be viable but as it stands any implementation of this would be clunky at best. The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Well there is something you can do:
In the clothing shops have 'Models', which are nothing more than NPCs who have a certain type of clothes on. I am sure it is possible to make it so if you hover your cursor over them it brings up the name of the clothing.~Lyonette L'cyr (Rook)-- Deader than Malaclypse

~Emilee Mistwalker -- A Female Sigrun? Pfft, far cooler--.... eh.... Hated!!

Oh it's possible to do something like that but then do you assume they are changing in front of you? And how do I make a simple way of assigning the particular item or dress to be worn by that NPC without individually writing in each tag.
I do like the idea, it's just it's not something that is going to be really simple to implement. I do think this is something I could consider in the future as a side project. The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Same could go with weapons and armor as the icon isn't always true to the ingame model.
Though something as simple as taking screen shots of all the common items on both generic male/female and posting it on the website somewhere would be great.
"Oh so that's what the kingsword looks like...perfect for my next hero." etc
Where as the rarer or more expensive magical items...well you'll just have to raise the gold and find out.Father Perry - "...great, not only do rats carry disease but apparently they explode into a fiery ball of flame.?"

I have seen once (just remembered) for the model idea. She has like x ammount of dresses in her inventory. You click and she changes into it and in your char box it lists what its called. Seems like the "easyest" way to do it. Good to hear might come in the future

PW Cerea2 (www.cerea2.com) has a neat system for clothes shopping. The shelves of the store just hold the inventory so you can take them and try them on, putting them back on the shelf if they don't look right. You then speak to the shopkeeper to purchase the items that you still have in your inventory. The items are stripped once you leave the store if you haven't purchased them.
It's a very convenient and ICly realistic system.

Which suddenly means instead of creating a store we now have to manually place inventory in the area... not a viable option really

Seems simple, but scripting it is always another thing.

Gah! It's Dwarves as well.Originally posted by Unholy Carp View PostIf there's going to be someone standing around modeling armor, I humbly request that besides the standard male and female, that there be a half-orc.
Those filthy orcbloods seem to get a +2 racial bonus to shoulder pads.
Anyway people, just buy a set of clothing/armour/robes (whatever gives the most excellent stat bonusy type things), then never change or wash them. It's the D&D way

Heh. It would be great to see a new, extra-flavorful armor set in game:Originally posted by Machiavelli View PostGah! It's Dwarves as well.

"Full Plate of the True Warrior" -- give it a decent armor bonus, maybe a little damage resistance, -4 charisma, -10 to diplomacy, craft alchemy, and fortitude checks, casts stinking cloud every time the wearer is hit.
