Would it be possible to construt a Coaching House/Inn in the crossroads area, as this seems to be the best place to construct this type of building.
Ah what is a Coaching House?
A Coaching House/Inn differs slightly from a normal Inn/Tavern as it is where many a merchant would have bedded down for the night whilst on the road. Coaching House's/Inn's where often constructed In rural areas for this purpose*
The majority of Coaching House's/Inn's where small, but there did exist larger buildings on highly traveled routes. In West-Yorkshire (UK) there is a Coaching House (Now a traditional Pub) In the middle of nowhere where wool merchants used to stay as they travelled the pennies from Lancashire to Halifax in Yorkshire with wool and back again with woollen goods.
In days of young america, when settlers spread from east to west coaching house's exsisted but where more often than not called hotels, but the principle was the same. A place where a traveller could rest up for the night in a bed (often plauged by fleas and lice) and rest his horse team. And enjoy the entertainment on offer.
*Smaller coachign houses where contracted as part of a communications network. More likely the postal network for the upper classes, and merchants.
