This is one tool that I'm familar with and its great. It eliminates the need for using any widgets for PCs. If there is someone who is familar with custom UI's, you wont need to make it a hak or override. It would be something as simple as placing a file into your My Documents/Neverwnter/UI/Custom folder. Basically the same way that many servers have developed their own Renaming Tools and Player Finder Tools.

What it does is allows DMs and players to access a seperate menu located on your neverwinter eye (options, export character, etc...). If anyone is familar with the DMFI, its somewhat similar. This tool can be used for emotes and rolling dice.

One problem I've experienced using the crappy DM Client is that when a DM controls a NPC, you can not use a dice bag widget. So having a sperate UI system would be good to allow DMs to ask players to roll dice against their controled NPC.

I think players would enjoy it because it offers campfires and looping emotes. This tool offers more emotes then the traditional "v" function. Its better then any custom emote wand because who wants to spend 15 seconds cycling through each emote only to activate it once? This way, player can hit the loop function and repeat the emote over and over. I think it would only add more RP to the server and it helps those weaker characters that get weighed down by widgets, unneccessary weight IMO.

In fact, you could basically make this the standard UI funtion to add anything to the PC. It has open slots to add many other functions as well.

Take a look at some of the pics.

Used it on another server and your right it is great. Very easy to use and saves time on emoting.

There has been a mention of this already by someone else.

Essentialy DMFI which we have installed basically does almost everything this does. Any functionality missing we will likely be adding when we finish our DMFI overhauls. One thing we are doing is integrating DMFI with the Chat plugin which will get rid of the need for the extra UI box for languages, and allow all emotes to be done through regular typing.

IE *Dances about before falling over* ... This would all be typed in the normal chatbox for the game. I much prefer this kind of system as opposed to another UI. (UIs are great, but they should be used in moderation).

Ive mentioned it before, it is a good 'un. Even has 'props' you can use.. such as a tankard that you can swig from, frying pan to cook with, and some other excellent rp visual aids.
Server ive used it on before had it running with the dmfi, its a good combination, worth a look ... not the server though, thats a bit crap.

its good that the Dev have decided to use their own custom DMFI because the original developer will not be doing any updates. he left it for the rest of his staff to pick up and update, but who knows if that will ever happen. ive not seen an update for that tool in some time.

as the above poster stated, it offers more to the emote system then the typing in commands. this way you can pick from a list instead of just "knowing" the right words to type. im a fan of looping the emotes so you dont have to repeat them over and over. maybe there's gold in dem hills and need to shovel.

          = )

Ideally, you will not need to "know the right words" to use our emotes. You will simply construct emotes, or "do"'s like you usually do, and the system will playback whatever animations you included in between the asteriks. This way seems more natural, and is eventually less combersome, as you do not have to worry if your emotes time correctly, or if people see you waving at them, as it will be in the chatbox.

Essentially there will be an ingame help command that will list all the emote commands. I've decided against adding another UI for this kind of extra functionality.

The original mentioned package (PC tools) has the following features:

              - Save Character (we already have this in our Sundren menu)
              - Check time (again, already in our Sundren menu)
              - Safe Location/Pitch Campfire/Pitch tent (we have no plans to implement these in Sundren)
              - Die rolls (in DMFI already)
              - Emotes (we will have all of the possible emotes and more in our command based system)
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
