Fine then remove cure light scrolls from the game, having something like that being so cheap makes the crafting wands pointless anyways.

If I remember correctly the staff has said that low magic means low magic items not low magic spells.

Yes, and those uber spells that throw off the balance between mundane and arcane/divine classes who don't actually NEED those magic items because the can get the bonuses anyways?

Right, I think they should just remove all scrolls except for basic wizard scrolls which is limited by the amount that can be bought at the store. Raise prices on healing potions, make healing kits work only not in combat, raise prices on buffing pots as well.

Right now anyone with UMD can be buffed to the point through scrolls like they have magical items. :/

And can't we just raise the bar for encounters so that it won't matter if you go to a place alone a big party of enemies is always spawned to encourage partying? Since no one can solo anything anymore if that's done.

Well by your reasoning you might as well Nerf every caster type cause they all get bonuses so they dont need those items. So after you do that you will have to nerf the fighters cause they will be overpowered compared to the caster types. Then after we cut off the monks hands and feet maybe everyone will be equal. Then maybe we can stop having discussions on whose stick is bigger and concentrate on what supposed to matter...rp.

Uhh, how is nerfing casters going to make them useless? it'll simply not make them over-powered. They still have their uses. If you want it to be fully rpish, then fine, make resting proper, and not resting every 10 minutes. Casters will still have their use.

Read between the lines, the classes aren't being nerfed, the spells are.

what is a wizard or a sorc without spells? a normal person. So yes if the spells are nerfed then the classes are too

All right all this usage of the word "nerf" is making me crazy. The simple fact is, some buffs in NWN2 work differently than NWN1 and it's easier for SOME classes to get extremely high ac at low levels... Which is disruptive in our low magic environment, and powerful. Our solution will be in a few changes in some spells that will fix this problem, nothing more, nothing less.

We are fully aware of how these spells are used, and you won't be losing or missing out on anything, no class is going to be rendered useless or "weak" with anything we change.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

This thread is making Cthulhu roll in his coffin. Bed. Whatever.

The spells in question will likely be altered so they do not stack with normal Armour/Shield/OR deflection bonuses - meaning if you wear armor, or carry a shield, the spell becomes moot unless it offers a higher one than you have. In circumspect, we are not taking away the mage's goddamn fireball, or chain lightning. Maybe Flest to Stone, but nothing that will make casters any less dead for simply being mages. Buffing yourself? Good, good. There's even plenty of utility spells like Haste and Displacement that this might actually put on the spell-list, instead of OMG MAD ACZ HAKZ spells.

Calm down. Casters are here to stay, and won't be any less squishy cannons than they should be. Gish are not welcome here.
