  • Suggestions/Issues encountered on day 1

I haven't been running into many actual bugs, but I'd like to make a number of suggestions

-We don't really have any kind of central meeting place. Maybe this will be resolved once we have access to Sundren City, but in the mean time, the closest thing we have is the tavern in Port Avanthyr, which is a pain to get to. In the absence of a functional Shout channel, like they have on action PWs, there needs to be someplace easy to get to from wherever you start where people can hang out and, if the server isn't too empty, find people to RP or quest with.

-No merchant I've tried (blacksmith, temple of Helm merchant, crafting merchant) will buy items. Does that mean I should just not pick up stuff I'm not going to use? Or is this a bug?

-Others have mentioned this, but respawns could stand to be more frequent. Walking around the hills, I didn't run into any goblins.

    -----

Those things said, it looks great! It's clearly still a work in progress to some extent, but the maps are beautiful (the Sharahan Hills are especially impressive), the critters are cool, and the event I was in part of, while somewhat confusing (mostly because of the lag), was a lot of fun (although I had to leave right before it ended ).

    Cool server!

Thanks for the feedback. We're definetly going to find some way to allow you guys to hook up easier and find each other.

We've had several issues with merchants. That's one of them. That should be fixed within a day.

Encounters are a big focus of this beta. Some people find them too infrequent, others find them getting killed too often. We are going to be fixing things like this first so players can still fight mobs if a DM isn't running a quest.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

The map shows all exits labeled as 'World Map Transition'.

      Is this by design?

I would prefer it if it actually said 'To Mossclaw Meet' for example.

Other than that, my compliments for the best looking PW there is!

I will start labelling the transitions that connect directly to an area. Mossclaw meet only connects back to Viridale Forest. There are some spots left with no place to connect to near the edges... these are stubs because we will be filling them with new areas as they come.

We will announce them as we add them. We'll try to keep it around a weekly basis to avoid you guys downloading a lot. As we recruit more developers to the team, we will be able to make more areas at once.

Each area is a careful process as we are fairly strict in terms of the quality. We want only the best.

Viridale and Mossclaw allow you to return to world map now.

Foulbeard will now buy many items. But not all, we will eventually have a place for everything to be sold, likely later this day.

Speaking of which one of my wizard companions had a distinct lack of scrolls to purchase and learn.
Let alone fond some new robes, or the like.
Right now they are at a disadvantage, until a mage shop opens up for them.
There's a thin line between the definition of genius and insanity; I cross it all the time.

This should all be fixed. There's a new merchant in the gate area that sells magic scrolls and robes.
