I would like to see more bow types and styles.

I would also like to see different types of arrows. I have never found any arrows but regular. You can buy +1 equipment around town, we should be able to find or buy at least +1 arrows.

It would be great to also find or be able to buy other types of arrows, such as acid and such. I don't think you can craft arrows, so we have to buy them, unless you made it so you can craft them.

    Thanks!

You can buy acid darts in the game, but I have not been able to find anything but normal arrows.

Are you guys going to add different types of arrows in the game? I would suspect if there are acid darts, then there should be acid arrows or at least +1 arrows.

I'm not sure if they are or aren't. I would suggest checking the Ranger camp or checking Sure Shots. If that doesn't work, then I guess I'll have to make sure they get in ^_^

I know Sure Shots doesn't carry +1 arrows or acid arrows. Haven't checked Ranger Camp.

I'd like to put in a request for +1 Heavy Crossbows and +1 bolts.

There's +1 bows, and a +1 Light Crossbow, but no Heavy.

I am also a bit concerned about the minimal options one has when buying weapons. it took me a while to find a great sword which isn't just a training sword. it would be nice for example to have a merchant in the red blades HQ that just sells swords and some +1 at that too. It is really difficult now getting proper equipment when your char is nearly lvl 5 and you run around like a kid on the streets
Also I wanna ask if it is meant to be that the full plate armor in immovable objects which has the name "plated full plate" or "strong full plate" gives +1 ac but no normal ac as in 8 as it normally should.... so you run around with this huge plated armor have +1 ac but no actually -8 ac at the same time???? not sure if that was the intention of the item or? same thing goes for the bright chain shirt.

            just my thoughts

I'm not in front of my computer at home to look, but doesn't the description for those armours say that it basically "fills in the gaps" left by the regular armour? It seemed to me that it was an add on to the regular full plate armour.

So if you wear a full plate armor for example and then put on that strengthen full plate armor it should function like a full plate +1???? strange but would make sense.

The problem with the extra-plated full plate, which has been documented for some time, is that it's base item clothing. It provides no base AC, has no armor check penalty, has no arcane spell failure, and weighs about a pound.

So, yeah. If you bought it with the expectation that it would be armor, you're out about 800 gold. :P

Thus far, longswords and to a lesser extent shortswords are the only weapons that have really received any love as far as magic and special mundane goes. I expect that'll change pretty soon.

Unrelated thought; is it possible to add visual effects to a weapon without beefing it up with magical properties? I just think it would be neat for the occasional plot-villain to carry a named weapon that looked cool, but didn't have to carry stats out-of-synch with the low-magic style of the server in order to appear as such. My recollection from NWN1 was that in the beginning a sword needed like 1d8 fire damage before it would appear to be on fire, but that later patches allowed for the flaming appearance with +1 fire damage.

Preferrably, such weapons would carry a plot marker so they couldn't be sold to NPCs, and would be in circulation among the players until someone carried it off into the sunset (by never logging in again, much like a hero leaving the region), and so the weapons could develop a bit of lore and history. Not being able to sell the weapons to NPC would also get rid of the problem of an item that say, had "light" as an effect being sold for a ton of cash (based on the scripts that determine value) instead of being kept in circulation as a unique trophy.

Erm, back to your regularly-scheduled discussion.

Any "villians" ive seen are powerful as they should be, and do have visual weapons. Which i would guess are strong since it matches the character. Villians wouldnt be to smart to show themselfs with a weapon that looks good but is weak :P
Sacrifice everything as the final darkness falls... in the end, all that awaits you is death. Only then will you understand - you've been following in my footsteps all along.
So come then, you heroes! Come in all your power and glory! For in the final hour, all must serve the one... true... king.

Even while you are all posting on this thread, we have been mapping boss drops on how we want them and covering variety of weapons/armors. We're trying to keep things documented and easy to lookup so we don't have overpowered item issues.

As you can see, when people do things without documentation, we end up with items in game that are completely out of scope for our intention. Like Bone Ring of level drain immunity.

Well, what I was getting at was suggesting a possible set of "rewards" that meet a few criterion: (i) are not gross amounts of XP, (ii) are not unbalanced items, (iii) can provide long-term satisfaction, (iv) can provide RP material, (v) are unique and (vi) can filter through the community.

In a low magic world, a villain wouldn't wield a weapon dramatically better than the players out to foil his plots, but if the weapon were significant in some other way than raw power it would be a worthwhile reward.

After all, what's special about "sting" or "glamdring" or "orcrist"? Well, they glow when orcs are around. Maybe they are sharper and more durable (although "narsil" was broken). But everyone knows those swords, because they had names and history.

Anyways, it might not be a very good idea, but that's what I was getting at.

I did find +1 arrows and some other arrows also, so they are in the game. I don't want to spoil it for everyone, so will not post where I found them but if you read this thread, you can probably figure out where they are.

                            Thanks!

Also what I have seen a couple of times in old NWN1 servers was that higher level shops with better equipment or special equipment was only possible to reach if you were high enough level and could venture there.. so for example you had to fight your way through a fire beetle infested countryside until ou could reach an enchater that sold better weapons... would be a way to prohibit lower level chars that got a lot of money somehow and buy upper weapons.

                              Just a thought
