"1. Finished crafting. All recipes will be functional, all materials will be accessible through drops, nodes, and stores. Crafting will be a reliable way to keep your character competitively equipped." - Lotus

Was just wondering, will this include changes, rebalancing or removal of any of the Profession skills? If so, I'd like to make some suggestions!

Instead of having to invest skill points in these skills, perhaps make them based on ability score, class and feat choices instead?

e.g. Woodcutting = Wisdom or Strength modifier (whichever lower), +1 Ranger class, +1 Forester feat, +1 Adaptability feat, +1 Self Sufficient feat

I say this for a couple of reasons:
    1) Skill points are not exactly abundant, and if you don't put points in the survival-essential ones it can mean you spend a lot of time in the Fugue. Putting 20 points into Cooking or Fishing can really feel like a waste, since 2 points and 20 points has the same RP value.

    2) Let's be realistic here...server population isn't what it used to be, and it may never be that high again. There needs to be >1% of the server population able to use Woodcutting, Mining etc otherwise crafters have to create alt characters for the express purpose of resource gathering, which is just lame. We should be creating characters we enjoy playing.

Yes, I realise my RP writing sucks. Just be thankful I keep it short

On the subject of skills, I think it would be more relevant to go over classes and PrCs and their skill point allocation/level. Stalwart defender and weapon master fx have still 2 points/level and very little access to custom sundren skills compared to fighter, paladin and sword saint. Same with arcane trickster which gets less skill points/level than either wizard or rogue. Just on top of my head.

Even though the WM and SwD have gotten fairly new changes, playing a character with access to custom skills is simply more fun.

But lets not swamp the devs here Thaelis my buddy - even though they are made of time ;-)
