  • Stupid Suggestion X(I lost count): Unbreakable Doors

Are some doors in Sundren purposely unbreakable or is this an accident? I just noticed in Whurest you can't bash the doors, nor can you cast spells at them, which is frustrating to say the least.

I have 5 Meteor swarms and a ton of Disintegrates but I can't bypass a simple door?

Anyway, if it is intentional I think it's a little overdoing things. Can't they just be given DR 30 (magically hardened adamantine?), resistance 30 to all elements, and 200+hp? Surely there's no need to make them invincible! Dwarves are pretty good craftsmen but they're not that good.

Yes, I realise my RP writing sucks. Just be thankful I keep it short

If they're locked as a part of the dungeon design, then it's probably design related. If they aren't there as a feature then oversight is likely. IIRC doors don't default to bashable when placed, they need all sorts of scripting to behave acceptably when bashed in a multiplayer dungeon environment.
It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do a little - Do what you can.

It's actually stupid Suggestion X! as in roman numeral 10: http://www.sundren.org/forum/search.php?searchid=117650

On the flip side, the Spittlefist Doors probably have the appropriate scripts to modify, and are rather notorious for being a premier party-stopper, if you lack both a rogue and someone capable of dealing over 10 damage reliably. Otherwise, once ONE person breaks it, everyone gets a free pass for the day.

Rest of the day? A minute, more like! Gotta hurry through that door. If it slams before everyone is through... well, then there's some more nice bashing to do. :P

The Spittle-fist doors are indestructible, but scripted to unlock after a certain damage amount. Other bashable doors and objects are permanently destroyed until the server is reset, hence my comment that once one person breaks it (the non-scripted door), no door exists to challenge anyone else.
