Also I do turn it off at times because I've been pvped more then once while in bad places. For instances while doing daily been pvped while fighting the daily mobs, not going to name any names you know who you are.

Funny, I recall being drawn into messy PvP more than a few times because of boredom + searchable. But again, I think everyone knows who they are.

Edit: Also, chill out Torgar. If you really want to RP with people, try reaching out to them in tells. More metagamey, sure, but who gives a shit if it leads to good interactions?

I agree. I don't necessarily consider tells asking for RP so meta-gamey, as someone just showing up unannounced. I would encourage tells, but I am making an effort, and encouraging those I play with, to be more searchable when not in sensitive meetings/talks.

I leave searchable on unless i'm in a group doing things that require some privacy.
But here is an example of what can happen if its left on, and yes its happened.

Player X bumps into Player Y at some point. They are of different alignments and opposing factions. The meeting is purely coincidental.. PVP ensues. Player X kills Player Y in PVP. fast forward a couple of weeks real time and Player X is on with searchable turned on. Server numbers are low at this time.. like 3-5 people. Player X is with 3 friends, all searchables on. Suddenly Player Y shows up in the same area all buffed up for PVP. After the PVP is over Player Y boasts about how he just killed a few of his enemies and he would have killed the rest if they had been online. Now that is pure metagaming and that really takes a lot of balls. Player Y.... you know EXACTLY who you are.

Regarding PVP, lets all be friendly with pvp. it's a game we play to have fun after all. Maybe a tell beforehand you just don't know if someone has a baby on their lap with a bottle in their mouth.

Shoot I remember running into Noric and Harra in mossdale then oocly shooting the shit for a wile then going back to IC and getting my butt spanked. Those were fun times.

Why, this just happened again the other day to me and another. Three people on the server, and wouldn't you know that person "bumped" in the two of us full bore for a fight. On a fairly large server, the odds were just astounding really. Yeah, I think we all know who that person is.

Fact: You came in knowing we were in the deeper level, and were returning up, and most likely using up most of our spells.

Fact: You came prepared to PvP when we had no idea you were there. I said, "Oh, it's you.". And you began casting. So much for RP, huh?

Fact: Your metagaming may be explained off to some as ignorance, but I and others, know how you operate. In a hostile area with NPCs, you expect me to walk through with sword sheathed? Claim ignorance. You're the biggest metagamer this server has left. Also, I know for a fact, your behavior has driven off several players, because staff refuses to sanction you for your behavior because they believe your "ignorance plea".....

I digress....Requiem is correct. Proper channels indeed.

I like searchable, its helps me find people. Sometimes people are hard to find so I just ask them where they are. Other times I hide under benchs and in bushes and wait for people for hours and breath real heavy as I wait, then I tell them about the time I saved everyone and became a hero.
