  • More Favored Enemy Availability

Suggesting that we allow favored enemy to be more available. Right now, you're limited to getting it through every 5 ranger levels. What would be nice:

    - Allow it to be chosen as a standard feat every three levels, with the prereq being that you have 1 ranger level already. Just means you'd spend a feat on it instead of on something else.

    - Allow it to be put on items. Not possible right now in the toolset. I don't mean that it should be a craftable item, but would open some doors for DM rewards. If you dedicate your life to being an undead slayer, you could give that out to represent time invested in that RP, for example.

** Of course, guess who's been playing rangers lately?

The system in place via Ranger advancement is sufficient.

It wouldn't be worth a feat on any class but ranger anyways, and it arguably could shore up the only weakness the Ranger Class really has, and in my opinion; rangers are already borderline overpowered, played right with the correct skill set/items they can crush any/every other class in the game.

With arguably more lethal attacks out of stealth then rogues, including the option to stealth in and out and appear at maximum visual range pounding your ass with arrows, then vanish again with maximum boosted movespeed to appear somewhere else to repeat the process...

Or closewith a more strength oriented build and dance in and out of stealth with HIPS to repeatedly knock down and rip appart most characters on their backs with improved power attack...

Mind; they can do both, as a class they're already extremely flexible, and it doesn't take much creativity in a build to give the ranger options to fight up close AND at a range extremely effectively.

This is before factoring their favored enemies, which make them extra crippling against said foes.

Ah... sorry, I really love Rangers... my favorite class bar none...

But, yeah... they're really, really good as a class if you can learn the finesse/tricks to playing them.
