hey guys, just a thought here.. what would people think about letting the skill work with another factions gear? for example : Billy the rogue wants to work under cover in the legion for his eboncoin bosses, so now he could wear the legion armors and such... again, just a thought.

Negative. The whole point of the way we tag the gear is so only people in the factions can use that gear. It's a balance decision.

You could still use armor smithing to make a Legion look-alike for disguises. Add circumstance bonus to disguise, maybe?

Well, armor-smithing leaves you high and dry trying to replicate most faction armors, but the white-named mundane versions of all faction outfits are not rep-bound and can be used for infiltration-type disguises, if you can ever manage to get someone willing to sell it to you.

I think the whole point is so people can't somehow (bargaining with other factions etc) get hold of the best gear from each faction and wear it all together :P

Also so that factions retain some individuality.

Lately I've also noticed increasingly powerful non-faction items popping up, I'm assuming from random loot. Which is great. Unfortunately (for me) the majority are weapons/armour/helmets at this point, but still it shows even us un-factioned bums are getting some Dev love!
