I played a server that had a crafting system that used specific items that were craftable appearance-wise. Then you'd buy a 150lbs item that let you store the appearance of the crafted item and transfer it to your usable item.
You guys are goddamn magicians, if that server could do it, I'm sure you could.
Why am I suggesting this? I've decided to invest into craft armor and weapons with my new character Mhaenal - mostly for fun and to make custom appearance items. but as I'm starting to use faction gear, I find very little use for making my own shields and armor. Not to mention I cannot find recipes for common weapons in regular steel. it would be nice to help people get custom appearance for their stuff
I read on the wiki that Peridan twilight once found a katana, and being a smith he had it remade into a longsword (with DM assistance I suspect) Stuff like this.
It shouldn't be handed out to everyone. Personally I'd still insist that the custom appearance change on a legion armor fx, should still keep it's tint and legion markings fx. Perhaps it could come with a fatigue cost? There are also other ways to restrict it.
Whaddaya think?
