  • Generic Kukris

I haven't found many magical kukris in generic stores. I thought A Finer Point would have them, but they have a bunch of rapiers... and daggers?

Might make more sense to switch those daggers over to kukri types. Or add a few kukris there. They are much more useful to a SB / Duelist than a dagger.

Raptor Talons are so incredibly good that anything they added probably wouldn't compare. Ixis is your friend!

All they need is a little EB love from a crafter and it's a beautiful sight.

Have to agree with this! Check the player stores on Exigo Trade Post forum. Raptor's Talons pop up pretty frequently and they are amazing. I can't imagine anything comparable being added to a store :S

Are kukris even in faction stores? I recall there being a small number in the Ebon-coin store before all our weapons were removed; but I've not seen any since.

They're good, but not super amazing if you actually do the DPS math.

The reason I believe they are the best is because a Kukri is 1D4. The Talon's adds 1D6 Slashing and 2D4 Massive Criticals. Kukri's have an impressive crit-threat range to begin with... so considering that they are Tiny weapons capable of dishing out Great Sword damage with a highly than normal probability to crit... I am surprised they are as affordable as they are in game.

              Cheers!

Slashing damage bonus from EB won't stack with the d6 slashing. Massive critical doesn't multiply on critical strikes and of course only proc on a crit strike. They're pretty balanced.

Yes talons are good. But they are not in stores. Realistically you're waiting to level 15 or do to go for them.

Stores should have something besides tools adamentine. I think a simple switch of dagger to kukri for those in finer point just makes sense for the classes they represent.

I think you're right that there used yo be some in Shifty's.

You can buy adamantine kukris at the weapon store in the forum.

I would like to see some kukris that have elemental damage and maybe a plus 2 or 3 enhancement bonus.

Fools adamantine isn't true adamantine. It's just a +2 magic damage, without the DR-pierce material property.

I'm still thinking this could be solved with implimentation of better crafting or enchanting mechanics :-/

seriously though Kukri's are so much more amazing than daggers for dex build rangers/fighters. It would make sense to either Implement them into a store, faction or otherwise.

Edit: Especially for the legion since there is actually a 'sub-group faction' of scouts which I assume is made up of dual-weilders with high Dex and weapon finesse.

Does anyone know offhand what drops those raptor claws? Is it the veloceraptors out there on Ixis, or a boss drop?
