I agree... but I think it is a function of ranger or druid = forest. Viridale is a forest and one used frequently by Elves, Druids, and other nature builds to support their RP.

Mossdale is also a forest, and a high level one. But, you never see nature builds attempting to defend Mossdale the way they do Viridale.

Perhaps that is the root of the issue. Give nature builds a place to RP throughout their develop cycles.

    Low Level = Shaharan Hills
    Mid Level = Viridale
High Level = ??? since Mossdale is not a place nature builds tend to defend or protect.

Anyways, it appears I am hijacking the original purpose of this thread. Apologies.

    Cheers!

Sorry in advance for furthering the derail, but this train is already too far off the tracks to be stopped now.

The idea that Ranger or Druid = forest is a flawed one, imo. If you look at Pathfinder Rangers they have something we don't in Sundren - favored terrains. (Cold, desert, forest, jungle, mountain, plains, planes [pick one], swamp, underground, urban, water).

We have most of those options on Sundren, but I've personally never seen a ranger or druid protecting a terrain other than the Viridale. The Spine maps are just as extensive (if not more so) as the Viridale, and aren't a grinding area for low-level characters who might feel bullied or pushed around by high level nature PCs getting up in their shit.

Also, with the removal of deity restriction on rangers, they really aren't pigeon-holed as "nature" PCs at all, anymore. Rangers are trackers and hunters, or to quote Pathfinder...

Be they scouts, trackers, or bounty hunters, rangers share much in common

While some track man-eating creatures to protect the frontier, others pursue more cunning game—even fugitives among their own people.
