Well, since you start the game at level 3 the nerf would not hurt a pure monk at all if the AC bonus was limited by level, or moved to level 3.

At worst they would have 1 less AC until they reach level 4, which takes all of 1 day.

Perhaps instead make 2-3 feats which people can take to get a small dodge bonus to AC only when unarmoured, so people can specialise in unarmoured fighting/wildshaping without being exploitable by spells.

I agree that some make powerbuilds and the Druid/Monk may be one such. However, it would seem that their AB would suck. Maybe they could hit most things on the server, but some higher level creatures they would barely be able to touch except with a critical hit.

I say just nerf the specific powerbuild you hate and leave the monk alone. They are hard to level in the first place. I have made a couple monk builds and without really good equipment, they are hard to play in the higher level areas, IMO.

Is there really a problem that needs to be solved here?

If you really wanted to, moving it to level 3 would work. But it's not that big a deal.
