I don't even want to look at a flag on my Legion\Hand characters.

Found dead in the burned-out Viridale forest a few weeks after the survivors were able to sweep the area after the Bloodmaim offensive. I would just like a transition so I could avoid the Second Wind Inn. Also, Hashart and Byrun might be buds sooner than you think. We could work out a shield store. :-)

Falrenn Silvershade - Shaper of Truths

Y'all still beat. 13 transitions world-trans to world-trans is the furthest anyone has to go, I think. :-P
Shortest is 2 for Exigo, unless we count those teleporting people.
I get that ours is designed to be out of the way, but it does seem a bit lopsided. Penalize the smart people with more areas!

If It was just a matter of popping a transition point it would be easy. But it's not.

There are encounters in that area which could make it an easier grind point if there's a world map transition, but more importantly there's newbies who will come down from the city and we want that logical progression of them walking the pioneer's way the first time they hop on.

If they have that transition point they might end up in Mossdale as part of their newbie Odyssey.

Having said that, there are all ways to script this not to happen, but suddenly I've taken a simple transition point and now I'm scripting something.

So in short; yes I understand why it would be nice, but I would expect veterans to rely more on things like Nexus Shards to avoid long series of transitions.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Mmm as a newbie I agree with this. When I first logged on the natural path to follow was Pioneers Way. If I'd hit a world transition I wouldn't have had a clue where to go and possible ended up somewhere I would die in pretty short order and think "That was rubbish".

...I got nearly 17000 Rep running flags back and forth ... I don't mind it and I'm known for bitching about things. ^_^

Let me put it this way ... You can grab a flag from Mossdale (killing all the mobs on the way) go to the Triumvirate Flag point, run all the way back down and then up the spine ... grab the Whurest Guard Post ... Run back down to Mossdale and still be on timer to pick up another flag.

The two long stretches of pioneers way take about 5-6 minutes to walk ... a minute if your hasted or equiv and running.

My suggestion ~ Invest in boots of speed?

A sound and reasonable suggestion. I would also add the always convenient 5 liters of Haste deployed in a camelback.

                  Cheers!

Sounds like a market opening for an aspiring young merchant. However, until the day some canny trader opens a stall...

Persistent Expeditious Retreat is the worst 7th level spell I use! I say this, of course, because it is a self-only spell, and thus I cannot sell it. I feel left out

In my day, we didn't have transitions. We had a campfire, and if we wanted to adventure to orc lands, we imagined it. And we were lucky!

This is an ongoing debate. Some people like cross-map travel, some people prefer linked areas. It's typically a convenience v. immersion thing.

                          A camp fire! Luxury!

All we had was a single, spent match to gather around. As for orcs! Oh for the glamour of orcs. We had to settle for imagined raids on slug camps.

                          Wait... This is silly.

Ahem, more stores on the ground is the best answer for now, once the elven faction goes in they'll be the go-to place for archery sticks and string and we can see about adding other places that offer an alternative to the other city stores.
It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do a little - Do what you can.

We used to dream about having a burnt match, it would have been a bonfire to us. We had to swim in ice water until the hypothermia made it feel like we were on fire. The the devs and the DM's would kill us and dance about on our graves singing "Hallelujah."

We dreamed of the DMs killing us and singing Hallelujah! We used to wake up in our ice lake, swim until the hypothermia felt like fire, work twenty-seven hours a day in the sundrite mine, come home, then our father would kill us, beat us about the head and neck with a cudgel, all while demanding we slaughter an orc horde before bedtime. And we were lucky!

While this has gotten silly I'd like to chime in, supporting to Saulus' statement, that used to happen, perhaps not with Mossdale or other areas which have set level checks. When I joined the server those who have been around that long will remember Mirakas Post having a certain group of squatters. Following a request of a crazy tailor to take some silk to this fellow Gus, Noril merrily skipped his low level self to the post. A few groups of high level adventurers later happening to the area or possibly Darcy had survived to get him out or something.

Anyway, a logical line of progression for the low level stuff and more dynamic addition and removal of npc interaction has in my opinion helped with this kind of silliness happening. Given that experience amongst many others I prefer to run... now getting to the cold climb without having to go through a faction hold or Thayan central would be nice.
