Unused store

Not sure if I've suggested this before, but the store at the base of the Cold climb sells some pretty cool gear usable only by Barbarians.

The last time I saw a barbarian around here was well before the 2nd Sundering :O

Perhaps it could be opened to Rangers/Druids/Spirit shamans since we don't have a faction store any longer. Or opened to everyone, wouldn't make a difference IMO. Factioned characters already have access to way better gear than that.

I'd be happy to edit the items myself.

It would be cool for unfactioned characters barred from Sestra to be able to get +3ish items. ... Then again, Aquor might not be much better, but hey. At least the merchant doesn't have a big 'This Shop's Proceeds Benefit Tyranny' sign out front, right?

I like this idea. I think that it would be of great use. I personally don't have an active nature character, but a store like that can provide the basis of a central spot for a PC to gain some equipment without being in a faction. I really like the class specific equipment and could use a bit more of them. Maybe when the developers are done with their much appreciated work they are currently doing.

The sign outside the Enclave says "Your purchase helps support the slave trade, sale of illicit substances, unethical research, and general arrogance of the Red Wizards...but at least we're not Banites"

but if we open up the barbarian gear for everyone, then people still wont play them.... Also there is swashbuckler only gear, and rouge only gear. That aside im for a store that gives descent gear to the non factioned persons in the valley. Though i think the factions should maintain best gear status.

I agree, faction gear should still be the best, just not by such a crazy margin. Also, making powerful class-specific gear doesn't do anything to fix those classes. Barbarians are still rarely seen, probably because dying in mostly every fight isn't much fun. Hide armour, 2 handed weapon and -2 AC when raging? Ouch.

And Swashbuckler still suffers from the same old "Why would I bother taking more than 3 levels in this class" dilemma. Especially now Fighter is so ridiculously awesome. I saw some servers moved the Precise strike (Int bonus to damage) ability to a higher level which at least discourages dipping.

Buuuut...you're probably right. We shouldn't take away their shinies til after those classes get a re-balance.

going on what talleyman says, the strange thing is that there's no unfactioned gear for rangers and druids. Wasn't there rangers not in the wardens before the second sundering? This suggestion should be to make such a store instead...
