  • Traits that grant Class Skills

How hard would it be to do this? For example a Noble trait that maybe added Diplomacy and Sense Motive to your class skill list.

If this has been discussed before, I apologize.

As a sapper who was never taught the proper way to wield a pick, I whole heartedly second this idea. Especially for things like professions, where theres not much of a reason certain classes are barred from taking them.

Would be nice for cleric domain-granted skills too

Able learner is your friend. Though I'm curious: what other circumstances do you see this really being applicable to, other than nobility?

Edit: I suppose I might have misinterpreted this. Do you mean something like the Pathfinder origin traits, that would give you small bonuses (sometimes a class skill), much like the NWN2 Background feats? (i.e. wild child, Veteran, Devout, etc.).

Something that everyone could select from with a few being restricted to people playing a restricted class/background?

I wont lie, my main issue here are profession and craft skills. I see no reason they should be limited to particular classes, which is probably another matter entirely, so I'll shut up about it. I'd still love to see the above though.

              Lotus <3.

I find it both highly amusing and totally awesome that Barbarians are the only people who can't take a profession. I whole heartedly approve. Go Pathfinder.

                Barbarians only have one profession.

Lotus, that would be ideal. :-) But yes, pathfinder has traits that grant you a skill as a class skill an give you a +1 bonus to it. The traits vary depending on how "useful" the skill. So, Valhalla was correct. The origin traits.

That's because the barbarian profession is an innate skill that is always maxed.
