I would like to suggest tweaking some of the dropped weapons/armour so that they can be further enchanted.
With the extremely limited craft system we have, you're pretty limited in what you can make. You could then make a wider diversity of items, so people could have more individuality, instead of everyone ending up with a +3 Thundering sword (its the best property by a long margin)
For example: Scimitar of searing ice (+2 cold, 15m light, +1d6 massive critical). Either remove the Light, or add a +1 enhancement, and then if someone really likes its 'flavour' (I'm not suggesting licking it, your tongue freeze) they can increase its enhancement bonus with the help of an enchanter.
Same goes for items with a +attack bonus. As a crafter, seeing those items makes me mad, because it might be a really cool item that suits your character perfectly, but you can never increase its enhancement and carry it with you to higher levels. e.g. Glassteel cutlass, Ancient halberd, and many others
These items are not overpowered in any way, they provide skill bonus or minor damage bonuses. Making them able to be further enchanted would just open up more avenues for enchanters.
