  • Vampire Vitality

As I was munching on boiled carrots the other day at the estate, it occurred to me, as a vampire, should I be eating vegetables?

I was thinking that the vampire bite could/should be modified to drain 3-5 vitality from the victim, and give it to the biter. We have a few players coming on who are roleplaying offering themselves, and it would make sense in game, without over powering the vitality system. Since vampire bites are no longer a grapple and hold kind of thing like it used to be, the risk of actually killing someone is low.

Or instead of eating carrots, maybe we could get fresh viles of blood to accomplish the same thing, on the vampire end. Dwarf blood, elven blood, halfling blood kind of thing. The idea of vampires eating carrots, just seemed off to me.

    Thoughts?

You've obviously not read the Scholastic Classic upon which the Sundren vampire template was based. I suggest you correct this at once.

V8 Juice is a perfectly fine substitute for the blood of the living.

How else would we see so good at night if we did not eat our carrots?

Well my darkvision is broken, so I shy away from carrots. I'm traumatised.

Thankfully for those who are fresh vegetable-shy, a brand new option for Vit-ale-ity is now available.

Thick as molasses and brewed to an old dwarven recipe, this fine Hold ale will keep for many months during a long siege. With nourishing ingredients from across the North, it'll keep those fangs the healthy white of freshly-fallen snow, and brimming full of un-health.

Visit the Stouthammer Brewery today, and look for Noland.

Remember, ladling it into your mouth with a spoon is cheating!

"Stouthammer Ales, they're better than the Red Stuff! And better than white wine, too!"

I wouldn't say having someone play a faithful human follower of Colibrus makes for Twilight fanfic.

I dunno, something about the way he phrased people roleplaying offering themselves to vampires made me think sketchy 30-something moms being all "Take me, Edward!"

It would be nice to give a real reason for a Vamp to bite someone. A actual mechanical reason the improves or fixes a vamp. Thus encouraging vamps getting out and foraging. Maybe one of the Sundren's wizards of Dev will find the time someday.
                      thanks guys

make it like a drug addiction. does our drug addition code work? I always assumed it did but never tested it out.

Maybe a 'recently fed' buff. There's plenty of RP reasons to drink your blood though, one of which being that it's the most pleasurable things a vampire can experience in it's undeath, other than fine music and gothic clothes.
Step in front of a runaway train -
                            just to feel alive again.
                            Pushing forward through the night,
                            aching chest and blurry sight.

It's so far, so far away~

Cold wind blows into the skin,
can't believe the state you're in.
